This debate was earlier than most debates between presidential hopefuls. Typically, the first debate between presidential candidates occurs around September. The election is in November, and if you're undecided it's great to watch these events.
Biden appears to be sick and stuttered when answering a number of questions. This was a marked change from the 2016 presidential debate in which Trump and Biden were uncivil to each other. Both candidates are ready for the next debate, and hopefully Biden will be in better shape when the debate occurs next. The popular consensus is that Trump won the first debate but the second will be more important as we will be closer to the election.
