Dinner at Chez Ablaze
It's been a while since I did a Foodie post, so I said I'd take a few photos while prepping this dinner recently, so that I could share with you guys here and maybe some of you might even give it a whirl? So let's get stuck in....
Ablaze's Garlic and Ginger infused Bacon on a Medley of vegetables served with Pasta
Ingredients
Brocolli
3 Carrots
1 large red pepper
1 large onion
6 to 10 mushrooms
Some garlic cloves
Ginger
Cherry Tomatoes
Scallions
Chopped tomatoes
Butter or olive oil
Pasta
STEP 1 - Get your bacon (rashers) under the grill or on the pan if a fry is more your shtick.
STEP 2 - while the bacon is cooking away, get cracking with cooking your pasta and make a start on the veg. Add our crushed garlic, chopped ginger and butter to a pan over a medium heat.
STEP 3 - After heating the garlic and ginger for approx 1 or 2 minutes, while continuously stirring, chop the red pepper and add to the wok. Cook for approx 3 minutes.
STEP 4 - At this stage, I add my carrots, but I take a shortcut and add hot water and microwave for 4 minutes.
STEP 5 - Now it's time to cry. Chop those onions and pop them into your wok with some of your chopped tomatoes and heat for 3 minutes approx.
STEP 6 - Now let's chop our mushrooms and add them to the centre of the wok with a further dollop of chopped tomatoes.
STEP 7 - Next we par prep our Brocolli like we did with the carrots, chop and add hot water and microwave for 3.5 minutes and add to our wok with some the remaining chopped tomato and some water to wash out the tin and add extra juice to the dish.
STEP 8 - Lastly chop your cherry tomatoes and scallions and add to the wok.
STEP 9 - Our Pasta should now be done. Drain it, and wash with boiling water and put it back in the pan. I like to now add some spoonfulls of our juices into the pasta and mix it together.
Bon Appetite
That's it, now I never got any photos when I plated up, as we were both too excited for getting stuck into some tasty food, but I too plenty of the prep, so hopefully that was enough 😁
Here lad nice meal there. I started using the chopped ginger pre done in a jar. It takes the hardship out of it. Hate cutting ginger.
Ah yes, they are wild handy actually, herself bought little cartons of those before and ya keep them in the freezer, there was garlic, corriander and ginger as far as I remember, must buy some of that again.
This dish looks interesting, I think it is also very tasty.
Cheers!
Thank you very much, I enjoyed making it... and eating it! 😋
