I struggle to walk alone, after being deny early check in hotel because I annoyed about having to wait until 3:00 PM, and it was still 11:00 AM. I left my lungage and look for a nearby place for lunch. Wanting something different, but it turned out to be a short walk, I went to IKEA.
Of course, you read that right, IKEA. Why was I there looking for lunch? I was curious about their restaurant. Canteen or restaurant? I didn't really care, but they say, they have Swedish meatballs at IKEA, which I dont skip. My curious grew, so I decide to walk the 30 minutes from the hotel. It wasn't that I didn't want to take a Grab car, but I felt like I could walk this distance.
In the hot sun, I continue on. I finally arrived at the place and saw a blue wall with the yellow IKEA sign. Wow, why did it feel like I in a desert and I feel like I could see a river in front of me?
When I enter IKEA the cool air, the AC calm my heart rate a bit, and I head to their cafeteria. It turned out there were a lot of people eat and lunch here. I grabbed my stroller and see a tray already waiting for me. HEJ!
I order a plate of Swedish meatballs with a scoop of beautifully colored mesh potatoes, and some broccoli, which I hadn't taste in a long time because vegetables are so hard to find when traveling.
There was a wide menu, including desserts, bread, and various other interesting dishes, but I only have one stomach and didn't want to waste any food because traveling on a budget is a must. Not wasting food is no excuse, LOL.
I loved the free-flow cola! I even drink it until I want to put it in a tumbler, because zero calorie Coca-Cola is great for soda drinkers, but not for everyday pleasee.
Eating delicious food, drinking well, and feel like I really enjoy it. Turns out a 30 minute walk in the hot sun wasn't so bad. In fact, I felt like I was being rewarded for what I'd done. Not bad for a budget traveler like me. Eating here was even cheaper than going to a restaurant. I should have just found a hotel nearby, LOL.
