Hola amigos de Hive. Hoy les voy a mostrar una de las recetas mas tradicionales y deliciosas de mi tierra Andina, como lo son las arepas de harina de trigo.

Hello Hive friends. Today I am going to show you one of the most traditional and delicious recipes from my Andean land, such as wheat flour arepas.

Estos son los ingredientes:

  • 2 tazas de harina de trigo leudante.
  • 2 cucharadas de mantequilla.
  • 50 gramos de azúcar.
  • 100 mililitros de leche.
  • 1 huevo.
  • ½ cucharadita de polvo de hornear.
  • 1 cucharadita de sal.

These are the ingredients:

• 2 cups of self-rising wheat flour.
-2 butter spoons.
• 50 grams of sugar.
• 100 milliliters of milk.
• 1 egg.
• ½ teaspoon of baking powder.
• 1 teaspoon salt.

Procedimiento:

En un tazón agregar todos los ingredientes secos, hacer un agujero en el centro y colocar el huevo y la mantequilla.

Process:

In a bowl add all the dry ingredients, make a hole in the center and place the egg and butter.

Unir todos los ingrediente.

Unite all the ingredients.

Añadir la leche y empezar a amasar.

Add the milk and start kneading.

Cuando estén todos los ingredientes unidos pasar a un mesón y seguir amasando. (colocar harina en la superficie antes de poner la masa). Si es necesario se puede usar mas harina en el caso que la masa este muy húmeda.

When all the ingredients are united, move to a counter and continue kneading. (place flour on the surface before putting the dough). If necessary, you can use more flour in the case that the dough is very wet.

Devolver al tazón, tapar y dejar reposar por 30 minutos.

Return to the bowl, cover and let stand for 30 minutes.

Pasado el tiempo de reposo, cortar y hacer bolitas para armar las arepas. En la foto se muestra a mi hijo Andrés de 11 años realizando el procedimiento.

After the resting time, cut and make balls to assemble the arepas. The photo shows my 11-year-old son Andrés performing the procedure.

Calentar una plancha o budare y cocinar la arepa, (a mi me gusta taparlas), voltear cada 2 minutos ya que se cocina muy rápido.

Heat a griddle or budare and cook the arepa, (I like to cover them), turn every 2 minutes since it cooks very quickly.

Repetir los pasos con el resto de la masa, te quedaran deliciosas.

Repeat the steps with the rest of the dough, they will be delicious.

Puedes comerlas con mantequilla y queso, también acompañarlas con café con leche.

You can eat them with butter and cheese, also accompany them with coffee with milk.
