Recipe Post - Momos

Here's a lip smacking momo recipe for y'all to try whenever you get the munchies

Ingredients:

  1. minced chicken - 500 gms
  2. chopped onions - 2
  3. chopped ginger - 1
  4. chopped garlic - 8-9 pods
  5. chopped spring onions
  6. chopped green chillies - 2
  7. chicken masala
  8. coriander powder
  9. ghee (the more the merrier
  10. salt - 1-2 tsp
  11. red chillies - 5-6
  12. coriander seeds
  13. fennel seeds
  14. flour - 1 cup
  15. oil - 2-3 tbsp

(I didn't really measure the powders used (Followed a basic thumb rule) just don't over do it.

Preparation:

Start of with mixing onions, ginger, garlic, green chillies, spring onions into the minced chicken, now mix in chicken masala, coriander powder and generous amount of ghee kanjoosi maath karna okay. finally add in salt and mix well and refrigerate the mix for about an hour or two.

Meanwhile let's get started on the dough, mix flour a pinch of salt and oil together to prepare your dough. once done make mini balls from the dough and flatten them and cut out nice round circles using a medium shaped lid.

Spoon in a table spoon of the mince chicken mix in the flattened circles and well i can't explain this in words right now so just fold it in and crimp the edges.

Once you've got you momos ready you can deep fry them on medium heat for 3-4 minutes. you'll get a medium golden finish quite soon actually but don't remove them just yet you need the chicken to get cooked well enough.

Now for the dip, soak 5-6 whole red chillies in hot water for about 6-7 minutes. once done add them to your blender along with coriander seeds and fennel seeds and take them on a spin. add in maybe half cup water and blend it again till you get a nice thick consistency.

Also this dip on its own doesn't really have much of a taste but with the momos it's killer. you can also add this to you dosa or omelette it tastes heavenly.

Well i guess momos are pretty much ready to serve if you've followed through so far. mine were thoda off shape but mehh they were delicious.
