Domaine Chandon
Visited My Dream Destination During My Recent Trip to Melbourne. This Vineyard And Winery Is Called Domaine Chandon In The Beautiful Yarra Valley. This Trip Left Me With The Much Needed Sparkle To My Tasting Experience✨
Just look at the stunningly designed interior in the photograph. It definitely showcases the wine-themed room with windows pulling in the seasonal changes, along with the neutral colours of the warm winery that’s always filled with clinking glasses and bustling chatter in the air.
We were served with 6 glasses of wine, the first one you see in the photo is the VINTAGE BRUT ROSE 2015, which had vibrant flavours of peach and cranberry. The next one was VINTAGE BRUT 2016, which had rich acidity of green apple and lime.🍋 I’ve never got to taste such elegance in a glass before.
The third one is VINTAGE BLANC DE BLANCS 2017, a charming zesty wine filled with subtle blossom notes.🌸 Our relatives got to taste GARDEN SPRITZ, heard that it has fine fruity note of blood oranges and spices🍊 CUVEE RICHE had creamy savoury note of cashew nuts and guava. While the PINOT NOIR SHIRAZ has always been known to have a classic cherry with liquorice and cinnamon hint.
As a former coffee farmer and enthusiastic cup taster, this experience only made me compare the similarities wine has with coffee. Both in terms of flavours and origins, the process and complexity that goes into making such fine produce. Rich and elegant yet surprisingly perfect pairing that make the experience even better. My tongue tingled when I identified the right notes with each sip of wine I drank.
Wanted to grab a bottle of their finest wine and I couldn’t resist the urge to splurge on a bottle of their fine wine. But I had to let go, when I knew I had to travel to India safely with all the coffees I’d already purchased.🥺

Had an exceptional sparkling wine experience, which was immersive and enjoyable. What made it memorable was being there with relatives, who shared their stories. The landscape was so different from that we have at India. I’m used to seeing mountains filled with lush green trees, leaving barely any room for plains.
The surroundings of Yarra Valley was layered with smooth curvy mountains and sparse flora. The kangaroo’s hopped within the vineyard, we would walk along the rows of neatly lined grape vines where we would get to see family of kangaroos separated by a couple of rows.🦘
The View! 🍇
The kangaroos and sheep’s were always on the background while we were travelling. The Australian villages has slightly windy roads but so scenic and quiet. Couple of chirping birds and sunny plains were spotted on the way to the vineyard.🐑
Chocolaterie, Cheese Farms and Vineyard were all seen in and around Yarra Valley. Thus creating a big opportunity for tourism.🍫 People gathered to enjoy the weekend with their families, I noticed how in Australia the work life balance is an important part of society. Weekends are undisturbed, leisurely and filled with fun activities for the kids.

Sparkling wines that were drool worthy, rich and refreshing. Perfect for the start of a long weekend. The wine range tasting we asked for was ‘Exceptional Chandon’ and ‘celebrating Diversity’ this was in order to taste the traditional along with decadent wines.
The host gave us the two sets of 3 wines and broke the ice between us. He asked us where we were from and was ready to answer any questions we had about the wine. I was pleased to hear him talk about the complexity and precision of the traditional sparkling wine which comes from the French heritage.

This was the ultimate Chandon experience at the vineyard in Australia. I always felt like I’d visit the vineyards of Nasik before going to an abroad wine tour. A worthwhile experience and a location to explore if you ever visit Melbourne.
