Hi foodies!
The other day I got a craving for English muffins, so I picked some up during my next visit to the grocery store. I'm glad I did, too. Because the next day I decided to use them!
First, cut the English muffin in half and place it into the toaster. Mine has a "bagel" setting which worked perfectly for this.
Next, while the bread was toasting, I heated up some olive oil in a pan and cracked a large egg into it. In order to keep a nice round shape, I used a spatula to gently form the egg while it cooked. Once it looked ready, I flipped it over. It's very important to cook the egg just long enough so the yolk isn't runny but not too long as to burn the egg! Fine tuning this art will come with practice as it depends on the heat of your stove and the pan you use.
Once the bread is nicely toasted, I like to add a generous amount of mayonnaise to both halves! This adds an extra kick of flavour that myself and my kids absolutely love!
Finish it up by placing the fried egg onto one half, grabbing a fresh piece of deli ham and folding it so it fits on top, and closing your home made egg McMuffin with the other half of the English muffin!
To recap, you'll need:
- 1 English Muffin
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 Slice of Ham
- Some Mayonnaise
- Some Vegetable Oil
- A toaster
- A stove
- A frying pan
There you have it! Enjoy!
