FOODlog #282: Kurma Curry Chicken Stew

Today's lunch ~~

Chicken kurma mamak style. This is a type of curry that's found here in Malaysia.

Blended onions and garlic sautéed in oil until fragrant then add in the kurma mix. It's a premix spice pack which has a blend of coriander powder, cumin powder, and fennel powder. I also added in some black pepper, white pepper, and a pinch of turmeric powder. Add in freshly cut tomatoes, chicken (I used chicken thighs here), and water and bring it to a boil then simmer for 20 minutes. You can add in carrots and potatoes too but I wanted to keep it simple this time.

Normally I'll add in coconut milk but today I replaced it with evaporated milk instead. It turned out as creamy as you would if you used coconut milk.

Serve with rice and or some flat bread and serve! 😋👍
