As you grow older, your fondness for celebratory cakes decreases at least in my own opinion. Although cakes are delicious, sweets can't be still be anyone's thing, right? As for me, I ditched sweets a long time ago. Then one day, we decided to create charcuterie board. Since then, we've decided to just go along with it and also, tried to get creative with it.

It's fun to think on what could be perfect combination this type of cheese to that type of wine. "What wine is the best for Brie or Gouda cheese?" Or perhaps, "Would this Sauvignon Blanc really fits our choice of cheese?" That's something my sister and I usually pondered in the middle of the shopping aisle.

But it's even more fun to decide on what other things that are needed for the platter. Some of which are fruits, nuts, meat, garnish, crackers and what so ever. Or the type of tea or juice do we even need for beverage.

As far as I know, there aren't rules in making charcuerie boards. That's why, I regard it as a 'flexible' food because one could choose varieties of ingredients and design in according to their taste, and could still make it delicious and aesthetically pleasing.

One would probably like their platter strong or mild, their choice of cheese and wine would probably matter. Or if one might like their cheese platter on a ligher hue, so their choice of ingredients might matter like choosing the green grapes instead of those red colored grapes. Or if want to go a healthier option, one could just ditch the greasy meat or something. Everything in these charcuterie might be a matter of choice though in the end, everything would go right into our stomachs.

Also as time goes by, feeling inspired by all the charcuterie fever, we engaged also a fun picnic activities.

We also created various picnic foods along with it. Such as onigiri or rice balls, maki, fruit sandwich and etc.
