If you already know how to make granola, baking granola bars is just a mater of a little bit more practice. Granola bars made in the stove are unquestionably more difficult to make than those made in the fridge. I failed numerous times before succeeding. Mine, still, are not those perfect-looking ones you see on Pinterest, but they're good-looking enough that can make my mouth water😷

My recipe isn't very sweet, so don't worry; if you eat just enough of them, you'll lose some weight over time (one or two bars for each pre-workout session).

** Ingredient:**

A>

  • 200gr Old-fashioned Oatmeal
  • 220gr Nuts as you wish (I’d often do 100gr almonds cuz they make the bars look good)
  • 30gr chia seeds (This is quite important to keep the bars together besides the sauce)
  • 60gr dry cranberries (cut in halves)
  • 60gr dry mango (cut ibto pieces)
    B>
  • 50g coconut oil/ olive pomace oil
  • 60g Malt syrup
  • 20g Honey
  • 5gr peanut butter and 1gr vanilla essence (optional) (These ingredients help with fragrance)
  • 1gr salt (or just a pinch of salt)
Note: Malt syrup and honey could substitute for each other to increase/decrease the sweetness.
  1. Bake the nuts and oat meal till crispy. You may bake the nuts at 170 degrees Celsius and toss them every 5 minutes until they are done (about 15 minutes all together). The sauce should be prepared at the same time as the nuts.

  2. Weigh the pan with sauce and your spatula in it. Remember the number. Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce to a medium heat. Constantly weigh the pan until it has evaporated 8 grams from the initial weight.

  3. Mix the boiling hot sauce with the nuts well. Make sure to do this quicky and then, pour the mixture into a square ring mold, mine for the amount above is 24cm. You can also use 22cm.

  4. Firmly press it. This step is critical since it determines how your bars will look in the end.

  5. Bake at 140°C for 25-30 minutes. Please double-check your heat the first time you do this. When the bars are golden brown and the mango has become a touch brownish but not darker, they are done. Overbaking your bars will cause them to darken and the dried fruits in your bars to taste bitter.

  6. Also, acquire a good knife. Your bars will be ruined if you use a blunt knife. Please also cut the bars while they're still warm. If you wait until it completely cools down, it will be easily broken.

This is my decorations :D
