Hace algunas semanas, viajé a una ciudad llamada ‘’San Carlos’’, que se encuentra en el estado Cojedes, a 3 horas de mi ciudad. Este viaje fue con el fin de trabajar en una organización de un concurso de belleza estadal, ellos nos brindaron alojamiento, comida y transporte para nuestras actividades con las chicas del certamen. Entre tantas cosas maravillosas y buenas que viví de ese viaje, no podré olvidar la comida exquisita que nos preparaban.
A few weeks ago, I traveled to a city called ''San Carlos'', which is located in the state of Cojedes, 3 hours away from my city. This trip was with the purpose of working in an organization of a state beauty contest, they provided us with lodging, food and transportation for our activities with the girls of the contest. Among so many wonderful and good things I experienced on that trip, I will never forget the exquisite food they prepared for us.
En las mañanas, siempre nos despertaban con algo ligero pero muy sabroso. Empanadas rellenas de pollo o carne, rollitos de quesos, panqueques grandes con relleno de queso y mantequilla. Las bebidas eran jugos naturales, naranjas, fresas o limonada para refrescarnos, porque en San Carlos el clima es muy caluroso.
In the mornings, they always woke us up with something light but very tasty. Empanadas filled with chicken or meat, cheese rolls, large pancakes with cheese and butter filling. Drinks were natural juices, oranges, strawberries or lemonade to cool us down, because in San Carlos the weather is very hot.
A la hora de almorzar, luego de un largo periodo de trabajo, llegábamos hambrientos al restaurant. Los almuerzos eran de lo mejor, me recordó mucho a como preparó los platillos en mi casa. Con el almuerzo, quedamos satisfechos, pero nos quedaba un espacio en el estomago para un postre especial, así que resolvíamos comiéndonos una torta o algún helado afuera de las instalaciones del restaurante.
At lunchtime, after a long period of work, we would arrive hungry at the restaurant. The lunches were the best, it reminded me a lot of how he prepared the dishes at my house. With lunch, we were satisfied, but we had some room left in our stomachs for a special dessert, so we solved it by eating a cake or some ice cream outside the restaurant.
En la cena, era cómo ver el cielo. Nos sorprendían con lo mejor y con eso quedábamos contentos y felices a la hora de ir a dormir. Nos daban mucha comida rápida y esa era mi parte favorita. De hecho, llegué a pedir 2 hamburguesas, porque sabía que con 1 hamburguesa no me llenaría.
At dinner, it was like seeing heaven. They would surprise us with the best and with that we were happy and content when it was time to go to bed. They gave us a lot of fast food and that was my favorite part. In fact, I even ordered 2 hamburgers, because I knew that 1 hamburger would not fill me up.
