Hello All Food Lovers,
Onion Parantha is a very famous dish of north India. Parantha is usually eaten in breakfast but it can be had at anytime.
Parantha are of 2 type :
1. Plain Parantha
-Parantha without any filling.
2. Stuffed Parantha
-Parantha filled with something (you can stuff almost anything - potato, onion, grated cauliflower, fenugreek leaves and many more things)
So there are endless variety of Stuffed Parantha as you could stuff almost anything.
Parantha is so famous in North India that you could see countless road side Paranta stalls everywhere and lot of them are open 24 X 7.
Parantha lovers will go to a Parantha stall 12 O'Clock in the midnight (this is really fun ).
We are going to make Onion Parantha today, so let's start :
Ingredients: (Serving for two)
- Wheat Flour- 3 cups
- Onions (2 medium sized)-Finely chopped
- Salt and red chilly powder- As per taste
- Refined oil (or Desi ghee - Indian Clarified Butter)
- Curd or Butter to serve with
Recipe for dough:
- Make a tight dough by mixing water gradually to the wheat flour and kneading it properly.
- Make a ball of kneaded dough, apply some dry wheat flour and roll it with the help of rolling pin.
- Apply some oil/ghee, then sprinkle the salt and red chilly powder.
- Spread the chopped onions.
- Fold it as below
- Now fold from other side to make a square shape.
- Roll it again and heat the flat pan.
- Once hot, put the Parantha over the pan.
- Apply oil (or ghee) on both the surfaces and cook it properly.
- For great taste, serve it with any pickle or yogurt.
