Visiting Aunt // Huge bowls of Wonton Soup and Stir Fry Chicken-Cauliflowers

School holiday for Raya is about to end. We had been joyous throughout the week due to arrival of a baby girl in our clan, my precious niece, as well as holiday activities for the boys. Woke up feeling tired but heart were full. After a bit of tidying up the house, off we went to Aunt's place.

Wonton Day!

Last week, when I brought her to morning market, she bought 1kg of minced pork and 2 packets of wonton skin. I did wonder was it she wanted to cook wonton?

True enough, we reached her house and there were two big bowls of wonton soup. Slurppp! She said total around 50 wontonsss!!! Wow!!!

Our Lunch Spread

She asked the boys whether they wanted rice vermicelli with the wonton soup, if yes, she would go cook the rice vermicelli, but the boys said they were okay to eat with rice. She was so thoughtful, ain't she?

Wonton soup with lettuce

This time, she added diced jicama, diced onions and diced carrots into the minced pork for the wonton filling. So we'll-marinated, and the made the wonton so evenly-sized with generous amount of minced pork in each wonton. For the soup, she cooked the herbal type of soup, so refreshing.

There was something delicious about the soup, so I asked her to teach me. She added solomon's seal as the base soup, lily bulb and half 'loh hon guo' aka monk fruit. Then, she added this secret ingredient called water chestnut powder to oomph-up the whole soup texture and taste. Super yummy!

Stir Fry Chicken with Cauliflowers

Another dish she prepared was Chinese stir fry chicken with cauliflower and canned straw mushrooms. Basic stir fry using garlic oil, with seasoning of soy sauce, oyster sauce, a bit of sesame oil.

For this one she added a teaspoon of maltose. She said maltose is healthier than sugar.

I super enjoyed my sumptuous lunch!

We arrived earlier at 11:30am, so the boys were not hungry at all. Only me alone enjoying the lunch with Aunt while the boys were hanging out in the room. Lol...

They were also enjoying chocolate snacks from Aunt!

2 hours had passed, and my Aunt and I had chatted a lot. I needed to go home soon to continue some housechores, so Aunt proceeded to pack the food for us. I felt so thankful and blessed that I need not cook on Saturday because she cooked extra so that there are enough for our lunch and dinner.

Thank you, Aunt❤️!
