Are you a fan of the sour taste of sinigang? I'm actually indifferent with sinigang. I eat sinigang when its on the table but i'm also not craving for it when its not there.
I have an officemate who is from Bacolod. As an Ilonggo, she loves to eat Cansi, a Filipino beef soup that taste like a combination of Bulalo and Sinigang. The best part of this hearty dish is the huge bone marrow that is the highlight of the dish.
One time, she treated us to her favorite restaurant that serves "the most authentic Cansi" according to her- the Cole's Cansi. This humble restaurant, located near Ayala Cebu, has quite a long queue outside. This might be due to the relatively small area of the restaurant or like my friend, people also find their best seller, Cansi, delicious.
After almost 10 minutes of waiting, we finally have a table for ourselves. We ordered their famous Cansi, boneless bangus, lumpia, chopsuey, chicharon bulaklak and bihon.
Its my first time indulging Cansi so i'm quite curious as to its taste. True enough, it taste like a combination of beef bulalo and sinigang. The fatty sensation was compensated by the sour flavor of the dish. I also love the bone marrow but i only ate a portion since i know its not good for the heart. Their bangus and lumpia are equally delicious too.
After our sumptuous dinner, we craved for dessert so we went to a nearby halo-halo place- the Sol's halo halo. This place brings nostalgia because i often eat Sol's halo halo during college days. They have been tagged by a local newspaper as "Best of Cebu 2018".
The night was filled with conversations and laughter as we filled our stomach with great foods.
