My healthy oatmeal and buckwheat cookies

in Foodies Bee Hive11 months ago

If you've had a chance to read my food blogs before, I'm sure you know that I love all kinds of pastries, especially homemade cookies, prepared in various ways. Today I will present to you cookies that I have never made before and which are very healthy and will delight you with their crunchy and unique taste.

The sweet and salty version of cookies requires little effort and only a few ingredients. Buckwheat and oat flour, oil, milk, baking soda, flax seeds, dark chocolate, honey, salt, and spices.

First we will make the salty ones. Place half a cup of flax seeds in a deep bowl.

IMG_20230528_105814.jpg

Add a cup and a half of buckwheat flour.

IMG_20230528_110048.jpg

A teaspoon of baking soda.

IMG_20230528_155123.jpg

A teaspoon of salt.

IMG_20230528_155146.jpg

A teaspoon of oregano or other spices.

IMG_20230528_155200.jpg

The dry ingredients are ready.

IMG_20230528_110707.jpg

Mix them well.

IMG_20230528_110809.jpg

Now add the wet ingredients. 4 tablespoons of oil.

IMG_20230528_155230.jpg

And half a cup of milk.

IMG_20230528_155543.jpg

Mix all the ingredients and knead a smooth dough. If necessary, add a little flour.

IMG_20230528_115224.jpg

Put the dough on the baking paper and prepare the rolling pin. Then cover with another baking paper and thin the dough with a rolling pin to the desired thickness. You can cut the dough with a knife and shape it into sticks.

Since mine was brittle because I thinned it a lot, I shaped the sticks by hand into a cylindrical shape. Place the sticks on baking paper and bake for about 10 minutes at 180 degrees.

Now we will prepare sweet cookies. They are very easy to prepare, so you can make them with children, they will surely have a great time.

IMG_20230528_122154.jpg

Hey there!
It's been a while

Lovely to share some healthy snacks with us :)
Food we eat has a major effect on our body, mind and our heart, especially on the long term
The sunflower oil isn't really good for us, but it is cheap, finding a nice jar of coconut oil or if you can find locally olive oil adds much more positive and is likely to be much less harmful, but does cost a bit more than 'regular oil' even people around me use regulary

Have a great, beautiful, fresh start of the week!

Heey, good to see you!🤗 I hope you are well and that everything is fine with your heart health problems. I agree with you, sunflower oil should be avoided. The original recipe for these cookies uses coconut oil, but I couldn't find it.

There are many versions of it, but in last 3 years of trying to live a healthier life, I found my favorite one in DM store, not sure if you got it as well, but it's in glass jar and even good for baking eggs, meat etc, as it doesn't 'pop' (meaning it really doesn't contain any water in it)

Everything has been improved, starting another rehabilitation and working towards new goals and destinations, Thank you!
