Have you visited the newest restaurant in Cebu yet? πŸ™Œ

WHAT IS UP AND HEYYOW, foodieverse! πŸ₯³ I am so excited to share with you the recent #FoodTrip I had along with my karate friends.

It is no secret that I love me some Korean food - this fondness especially heightened when the lockdowns happened in 2020 when I binged-watched lots of Korean drama series and my sisters and I would crave for some K-bbq or K-chicken or K-samgyupsal.

One of the fast growing Korean restaurants around town is Barangay Seoul. We all know that Seoul is the capital of South Korea. It is famous for its Hallyu stars and industry in general. You might ask, "so what is barangay?" I am glad you asked, fellow foodie. If you're not from Cebu/ the Philippines you would be asking what this word is.

Barangay is a term us Filipinos use when we refer to a village, district or ward. The name of the restaurant is very clever - adding a uniquely Filipino name to Seoul makes it more appealing to the k-fanatic Pinoys who love not just K-drama but also the culture: music, skin care, food, among others.

Why is it "Express"? This store offers Korean delicious cuisine for a cheap price of 149 PHP only! While its first-ever store offers unlimited samgyupsal and bulgogi alongside these beautiful side dishes (more expensive too about 499 PHP per person), this new store offers only the sides and for its main course a generous servings of pork, beef, and chicken.

I had fun choosing my own meal for the 149 PHP. I had rice, spicy pork, tteokbokki, kimchi, braised boiled potatoes, and seaweed soup. I WAS SO FULL! As a Korean food lover, it's so worth it! "Sulit!!" (I took a photo of the menu so that you will have an idea on what food they offer. Yep, you are welcome.)

Now I definitely have a place to go when my Korean food cravings strike! πŸ₯’

As they newly opened, their "Soft Opening" would be until August 31, and they open from 11:00 Am to 10:00 PM. Beginning September 1 they will operate 24 hours (FANTASTIC!!) to accommodate us all Korean foodies! πŸ˜‹ πŸ₯³
