Did you know that nothing from a banana fruit goes to waste? Even its skin can be used to make patties, which can be stuffed into bread or added to rice dishes like meat.
The banana fruit I made is called TURON in the Philippines which is a sweet that can be eaten for breakfast or snack wrapped in Spring Roll Pastry with a little sugar inside.
It's incredibly straightforward to make, to the extent that it can even be transformed into a business opportunity. By having your own banana plantation, even just around five trees, you can save substantially and potentially generate a more substantial income.
Once wrapped in the Spring Roll, the next step is to fry it in oil with a light dusting of sugar. This helps the sugar adhere slightly to the Spring Roll. However, it's crucial not to overcook it, as that can lead to it turning black and acquiring a bitter taste.
BANANA SKIN PATTIES
Regarding the banana skin, simply finely peel it and combine it with an egg, a pinch of salt, some pepper, chopped onion, minced garlic, and a tablespoon of All-Purpose Flour or Corn Starch. Mix these ingredients thoroughly.
Exercise caution while frying to avoid a situation like what occurred with my skin.
Give it a try; the result is truly delightful, resembling the taste of meat. It pairs wonderfully with a morning coffee as well.
The process is uncomplicated, and the outcome is mouthwateringly delicious. I even prepare my coffee from freshly ground beans, avoiding the pre-packaged bottles or sachets commonly found in stores.
