Colourful Walnuts

I was recently baking Beer Bread again and this time decided to add some of the walnuts I collected back in Autumn.

I had collected walnuts from a number of different trees and locations. While the variance in size was not surprising, the range of colours once I cracked the shells was something to see.

Interestingly, the taste differed according to colour, with the red ones being the sweetest.

But once they're chopped, mixed and baked into the dough, they all blend into the taste.
