Yo creo que la comida es una excelente forma de expresar y compartir sentimientos y que mejor compañía para disfrutar uno de los mejores placeres de la vida (o al menos para mí 😜), que con personas a quienes queremos, como la familia y amigos.

Hace no mucho tiempo, tuvimos el privilegio de compartir un momento muy agradable en este increíble restaurante "Bubba Gump". La verdad es que hace muchos años atrás, ya lo habíamos visto y nos había llamado la atención porque hace referencia a la famosa película de Forrest Gump. Sin embargo nunca pensé que tendría la oportunidad de comer allí.
Not long ago, we had the privilege of sharing a very pleasant moment in this incredible restaurant "Bubba Gump ". The truth is that many years ago, we had already seen it and it had caught our attention because it refers to the famous movie Forrest Gump. However, I never thought I would have the opportunity to eat there.

The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, is a franchise of restaurants that are distributed in many countries around the world, although most of them are located in the United States. If you remember the movie in question, Bubba was Forrest's buddy in the Vietnam War and all he did was talk about shrimp and the restaurant he would open when he returned from the war. However Bubba did not survive the combat but Forrest tries to fulfill this promise made to his friend.
Pues bien, este restaurante en verdad existe y fue creado por los dueños de Paramount Pictures en el año 2015 y en la actualidad cuenta con más de 40 sedes, que como ya mencioné, se encuentran distribuidos alrededor del mundo. Obviamente su nombre nos da luz sobre el tipo de comida de este estilo de negocios y por supuesto que son los camarones, además de mariscos en general.
Well, this restaurant actually exists and was created by the owners of Paramount Pictures in 2015 and currently has more than 40 locations, which as I mentioned, are distributed around the world. Obviously its name gives us light on the type of food of this style of business and of course it is shrimp, as well as seafood in general.
En nuestras últimas vacaciones en Orlando Florida, tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar nuevamente el CityWalk en Universal Orlando donde se encuentra una de las sedes de este pintoresco restaurante. En principio, no existía la intención de visitar dicho lugar, pero cuando después de un increíble paseo estábamos de regreso nuestra prima Nataly, quien nos acompañaba con sus hijos tuvo la genial idea de comer en el lugar.
En nuestras últimas vacaciones en Orlando Florida, tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar nuevamente el CityWalk en Universal Orlando donde se encuentra una de las sedes de este pintoresco restaurante. En principio, no existía la intención de visitar dicho lugar, pero cuando después de un increíble paseo estábamos de regreso nuestra prima Nataly, quien nos acompañaba con sus hijos tuvo la genial idea de comer en el lugar.
En la entrada del restaurante hay una banca como la de la película, donde Forrest contaba su historia a cada una de las personas que se sentaban a su lado, así como también una imitación de su maleta y los peculiares zapatos de Forrest con calcetines y todo, los cuales te puedes calzar para sacarte una increíble fotografía.
At the entrance of the restaurant there is a bench like the one in the movie, where Forrest told his story to each of the people who sat next to him, as well as an imitation of his suitcase and Forrest's peculiar shoes with socks and all, which you can put on to take an incredible picture.
A pesar de nuestro presupuesto ajustado, pudimos disfrutar de una excelente comida, espectacular atención y la increíble compañía de nuestros con los que hemos tenido la oportunidad de disfrutar increíbles lugares, aunque aquí en nuestro país Venezuela.
Despite our tight budget, we were able to enjoy excellent food, spectacular service and the incredible company of our guests with whom we have had the opportunity to enjoy incredible places, although here in our country Venezuela.
Me encantó el estilo de Bubba Gump, muy al estilo americano donde se puede escoger entre diferentes ambientes cercanos entre sí. El lugar está ambientado con accesorios y elementos alusivos a la película de Forrest Gump y la atención es de primera. La chica que nos atendió hablaba español y nos preguntó si habíamos visitado antes el lugar, para entonces explicarnos cómo funcionaba la atención.
I loved the style of Bubba Gump, very American style where you can choose between different environments close to each other. The place is decorated with accessories and elements allusive to the Forrest Gump movie and the service is first class. The girl who attended us spoke Spanish and asked us if we had visited the place before, and then explained to us how the service worked.
Sobre la mesa hay un pequeño cartel azul que puedes visualizar en las fotografías que dice "Run Forrest Run" (Corre Forrest corre), frase característica de la película. Pero si necesitas atención, solo debes cambiar el cartel por su versión en rojo, así el personal sabrá que deben venir a atenderle. También, con mucho gusto recibimos asesoría sobre cuáles serían los mejores platillos que podías degustar al momento para la cantidad de comensales y que realmente no se escapara de nuestro presupuesto.
On the table there is a small blue sign that you can see in the pictures that says "Run Forrest Run " (Run Forrest Run), a characteristic phrase from the movie. But if you need attention, just change the sign for its red version, so the staff will know to come and serve you. Also, we gladly received advice on what would be the best dishes that you could taste on the spot for the amount of diners and that would not really be out of our budget.
De esta manera, después de pedir hamburguesas con papas fritas para los más chicos, pudimos degustar una deliciosa bandeja que contenía un gran balde de cangrejo y camarones, chuletas barbecue, macarrones con queso y papas fritas que no podían faltar. Aunque les confieso que el cangrejo fue mucho para mí, pues estuve perdiendo mucho tiempo tratando de extraer la carne de las patas de dicho cangrejo con una herramienta especial para ello, pero les confieso que me sentí muy inútil y fuera de lugar.
So, after ordering hamburgers and fries for the kids, we were able to taste a delicious tray containing a big bucket of crab and shrimp, barbecue chops, macaroni and cheese and fries that could not be missed. This was really delicious. Although I confess that the crab was too much for me, as I was wasting a lot of time trying to extract the meat from the legs of the crab with a special tool, but I confess that I felt very useless and out of place.
Mientras tanto, y ante tal grado de frustración, una inteligente y amable niña de 11 años, sobrina de nuestra prima nos daba una clase magistral de como comerse las patas de cangrejo sin morirse en el intento. Pero les confieso que no pude aprender la lección. Solo pude comer un poco que ella misma me pudo sacar y aborté la misión para pasar a los deliciosos camarones y creo que había también calmares aunque ahorita no estoy totalmente segura.
In the meantime, and in the face of such frustration, an intelligent and kind 11-year-old girl, our cousin's niece, was giving us a master class on how to eat crab legs without dying in the attempt. But I confess I couldn't learn the lesson. I was only able to eat a little bit that she was able to get out of me and I aborted the mission to move on to the delicious shrimp and I think there were also calmares although I am not totally sure right now.
Junto con la comida, te hacen entrega de las pinzas con las puedes comer las patas de cangrejo así como también unos delantales desechables con el logo del Bubba Gump, de los cuales la chicha que nos atendió fue muy amable y nos regaló dos ejemplares para el recuerdo. Los cuales aún conservo.
Along with the food, they give you the tongs with which you can eat the crab legs as well as some disposable aprons with the Bubba Gump logo, of which the lady who served us was very kind and gave us two copies to remember. I still have them.
El lugar me encantó, aunque me parecía también que tenía como el estilo de un bar deportivo pero a la vez familiar. Fue muy agradable, el personal muy atento, la comida súper deliciosa. Por supuesto que me encantaría repetir esta experiencia, pero es probable que esto no ocurra. En total pagamos una cuenta de $150 por 7 comensales. Quizás este precio para muchos no es nada, pero para nosotros si lo fue, pero la experiencia valió la pena.
I loved the place, although it seemed to me that it had the style of a sports bar but at the same time it was family friendly. It was very nice, the staff very attentive, the food super delicious. Of course I would love to repeat this experience, but it probably won't happen. In total we paid a bill of $150 for 7 diners. Maybe this price for many is nothing, but for us it was, but the experience was worth it.
Días después en la ciudad de Miami, nos encontramos con otra sede del mismo restaurante en el Centro Comercial Bayside que se encuentra en el paseo marítimo de la Bahía Vizcaína. Days later in the city of Miami, we came across another location of the same restaurant in the Bayside Shopping Center which is located on the Biscayne Bay boardwalk. Qué rico a mi me encanta mucho comer cangrejo, yo aprendí a comerlo hace algún tiempo, tomar las pinzas y quebrarlo
