honey & Pecan Pie

Intro

My friend brought us recently big bad with pecan nuts straight from his garden. It would be a big loss to not use it deliciously and creatively so I've spent all morning peeling the nuts to make this delicious cake now. I hope you will like it. In fact, you can edit it and use any other type of nuts instead of pecan. The taste will be a bit different, but it should work anyway.

The cake is made of five layers: sponge, jam, pudding cream, second sponge, nuts in honey

Ingredients:

🥧 3,5 glasses of flour
🥧 2 glasses of sugar
🥧 500 g of butter
🥧 5 eggs
🥧 1 l of milk
🥧 70 ml of honey
🥧 1 tsp of baking powder
🥧 1 tsp of vanilla aroma
🥧 300 g of nuts
🥧 A bit of your favorite jam

Instruction:

1️⃣ Mix 1/2 cup of milk with three egg yolks, 4-5 spoons of flour, 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract, and 100 g of butter. Mix it until it will look like a creamy mass without any flour lumps in it.
In a bigger jar boil the rest of the milk with one glass of sugar

2️⃣ Slowly add your creamy mass to the boiling milk, mixing all the time. Heat constantly mixing until the consistency will be denser. It can take 5-10 minutes. If you need to, you can add one more spoon of flour.
Leave it to cool

3️⃣ Now prepare all the ingredients for the sponge cake. Mix well with your hands three glasses of flour, 3/4 glass of sugar, two eggs, 30 ml of honey, 1 tsp of baking powder, 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract, 125 g of butter.
When the mass will be ready, cut it in a half.

4️⃣ This is how a well-mixed cake looks like. Half of that cake we will use later, another half right now. Turn on the oven, set it on 190°C

5️⃣ grease an ovenproof dish with butter or use some baking paper. Spread the first part of the dough evenly over the entire dish. Put it in the oven for 10 minutes

6️⃣ Mix cooled pudding which you were making in point 2 with 200g of extra butter. Yes, it's a lot of calories but the taste is amazing. Believe me, it's worth it 😉

7️⃣ Until that time your first sponge layer should be ready. Take it out from the oven, leave it somewhere to cool, and use the second part to prepare the second layer in the same dish (10 minutes in 190°C, like mentioned before)

8️⃣ Prepare the last layer. Melt 100g of butter with 4-5 spoons of honey and add crushed nuts to it. Boil everything 4-5 minutes, mixing it constantly.

9️⃣ On the sponge cake put the layer of your favorite jam, then add the pudding, next second layer of sponge, and finally on the top put nuts in honey. Leave everything in the fridge for 24 hours. It tastes even better after 48 hours.

It's ready!
Delicious dessert, but very sweet and fat, so even if it's difficult, try to not eat all of that in one day.

Bon appetite!
