Chewing raw sugarcane to extract the juice from it is full of fun. It reminds me of my childhood. We used to have sugarcane during summer to have instant refreshments. Those days are long gone, now we have soda, cola, and whatnot. But nothing can beat the taste of fresh sugarcane.

The juice is so fresh and sweet, it gives a whole new experience in our mouth every single time. No need to say that chewing raw sugarcane juice is better than having a glass of sugarcane juice or any soda.

If you don't have the experience then let me share more!

Here in Bangladesh, during Summer, you will get to see a lot of sugarcane van/street carts here and there. Also, there are many sugarcane juice sellers/street vendors who use a press machine to extract fresh juice from sugarcane. Those instant juice are also quite good. They don't need any added ingredients, raw instant juice from the cane and you can have a glass of fresh sweet drink.

As we produce a good amount of sugarcane for sugar production in our country, so sugarcane is not a rare thing.

If you ask the seller, they will cut and clean the cane so you can take a bite. You need to use your teeth or any knife to get rid of the hard shell of the cane first. We prefer teeth!

From our childhood sugarcane was part of our food/culture, our elders used to say using teeth to peel sugarcane not only helps to strengthen our teeth but also it's a natural tooth cleaner. Also, it is a natural remedy to get rid of hepatitis or any kind of liver disease. So we get to learn how to use our teeth to peel off the cane, piece them and chew them to extract the juice.

I bought two sugarcane sticks for only $1. Then brought it back home and start to peel it off. My son was quite surprised seeing the process for the first time. I cut them into small pieces with my teeth and gave him to try it. It was a fun experience.

I couldn't remember when was the last time I had sugarcane, before this experience. The cane was so juicy and sweet, it was a wonderfully fresh experience.

If you don't have this ever, I would suggest you have sugarcane like this, peel them, piece them to chew with your teeth. It will be a whole new experience and if you are crazy about all the earthly experience then I bet you will love it.

Have a good day everyone.

That's a great experience, I bet.
In my grandparent's house they also had a press machine. Also, they used to make Jaggery from fresh cane juice. It was so fun to see the porocess.

This brings me nostalgic memories of yesterday (when I was in grade three to be exact), there's a vendor just beside the gate of my school back then and he sells sugar cane. I always bought one whenever I go home that time.

That time, we used to have a lot of sugarcane, more often.
But now, our teeth got week, we got so many other food and forget about the most simple snack/enjoyment/refreshment of our childhood.
This is what always happen.
Thanks for sharing your memory. Have a good day.
