Odong Ala Spaghetti: A Failed Recipe Yet Satisfies the Hungry Stomach

in Foodies Bee Hive7 months ago

For the love of food, we often look for some extravagant, expensive, and classy one. Often we need to find a food that can suffice our craving and most especially a food that equates to the price.

Hello hivers! Bear with me as I share with you the recipe that you might love.

Hungry?

When you're hungry, you need to decide what food you'll eat that is easy to cook and serve. But you also need to consider the amount of money and the time you're going to spend cooking. You need to choose a food that will not take much time to prolong your hunger.

As we went home my husband and I were already starving. We hoped that by the time we were home, there would be food on the table but, unluckily there's none. We hadn't taken a snack or bought any food because our pockets had run dry. So as we were changing we were already thinking about what food we eat. And because I was too picky, he decided on his own what to cook.

Prep Time

We went outside and decided to buy some barbecue.

We only bought eight pork barbecues and a Betamax (pig's blood) since I am not in the mood to eat chicken intestine.

We then went to the nearest sari-sari store and asked if they had available Young's Town sardines and Odong Pasta.

Cooking time

  • Prepare the ingredients.

So here are the ingredients for our cooking blog for today.

2 cans of sardines (whatever brand or flavor you may prefer) as for us we choose spicy and original to add a spicy flavor to the food when cooked.
a clove of garlic
1 onion
scallion
8 pieces odong pasta (or as you may prefer)
2 eggs
3 pieces sili espada ( chili finger or whatever term it is in English. Just correct me if I'm wrong.)To add spice to the food. This is optional.
salt
Umami/vetsin (optional) or whatever seasoning you prefer.

  • Chop the garlic, onion, scallions, and peppers in your desired length.

This was not the expected outcome of the food since the expected outcome should be something more like spaghetti since more water was added.

Imagine mixing or eating spaghetti, that is supposed to be the outcome. Maybe next time if we can cook this recipe, we will show you the final and the expected result.

Still, you can have that recipe if you want more soup because it tastes good and it costs less. I think we only spent less than 200 pesos and it can be served to a big family.

That ends our blog for today. Thank you for reading and sharing my blog. May you find this recipe satisfying and hope you'll try this.

This has been @rhianmaker, always reminding you to take your time to breathe, chill, and relax. May you fill your day with positivity and joy.

Simple yet satisfying. A cuisine that is economical and fast to cook. One of my payborite

Indeed. And I think this is everyone's favorite except those who don't eat sardines 😅😅

That's the recipe we simply have during typhoons or during weeks of tropical depression when fishes in the market cost is very high. Aside from being economical, it's yummy too. I love cooking it with the leaves of the hot chilli that adds flavor and nutrition. Thanks for sharing mam @rhianmaker.

A go to recipe if we were looking for some soup and especially when it rains. It really leaves an impact and a story to every Filipino on how we serve this food

Wow. I also love this kind of dish. This is a perfect match for a well milled corn.

Exactly. It really tastes different if you'll pair it with a milled corn. The saltines and the taste of the sardines are perfectly match.

What an economical recipe and delicious too! You know I so love this especially my grandmother cooked this for us. it is truly so delicious! Have a nice time sis!

It's been a food of all time when I was a kid. Thank you and you enjoyed my blog.
