Saba con Yelo

Hi food buddies here in hive!
Today I will share another dessert, which have 2 main ingredients only. Our star for this recipe is the saba.

Here's what we need:

•5 Saba
•1 Cup Brown Sugar
•1 1/4 Cup Water
•1 Cup Cooked Sago/Gulaman
•Ice Cubes
•1/4-1/2 Cup Milk, optional

Let's start cooking!

Peel saba and cut into 4 pieces diagonally.

Mix brown sugar and water, let it simmer.

When the sugar melts, add the saba and let it simmer. Cover with lid.

Turn off heat once syrup is reduced and has thickened. Transfer it into a serving bowl.

I used home made gulaman by cooking a packet of it and following package instructions. I cooked it ahead of time to let it cool and be firm, just cut it into small cubes.

Add the gulaman to the sweetened saba and mix.

Add milk, this step is optional.

I transfered it to a bigger bowl 'cause I need to add the ice. You can use ice cubes but I used cracked ice here.

Let it cool for a bit and it's ready to serve!
