Mug cake in the microwave

in Foodies Bee Hive5 months ago

You can bake a cake easily and that is proved by this mug cake below that I tried. I have always searched for the right recipe and previously tried one and it came out rubbery.

On a whim, I just searched today and found one recipe that had many people reviewing it and confirming that it was a success. So, I tried it and it has come out great. It is also good enough to make muffins/cupcakes if you are in a hurry. I bet this recipe is also good for the conventional baking process. So, if you do not have a microwave, you can also try baking in an OTG or pressure cooker too.

Ingredients

  • Three tablespoons All purpose flour
  • Two tablespoons sugar
  • Two tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Three tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • Two tablespoons vegetable oil
  • chocolate pieces - optional

Method

Take a clean mug. Add the flour and the rest of the dry ingredients one by one. You do not need to add powdered sugar. I used the tiny packets of parrys sugar which has small granules. Also, I added this to a small bowl instead of the mug because it would be messy otherwise. I mixed it with a fork so that air would be let in. Then, I added the essence, milk, and oil and stirred it until it was mixed well. I poured it into a mug that I had oiled a bit and then microwaved it for a minute. I felt that it was not done completely so I put it back in for a minute and a half and it came out perfect. So, if you have read this far, the time is 2.5 minutes.

I applied a bit of powdered sugar on top. You can pour melted chocolate or add sprinkles. Muffins can have any type of toppings. You can also mix this with ice cream and serve. It would be great and quite the treat.

You need not go out and order a high-priced treat. You can bake the best one at home. The plus point - it takes only a small amount of time. You could also bake muffins using this recipe and gift it to loved ones. It is better than buying preservative-laden treats.

Do try it out and give me the feedback.

Note - you can tweak the recipe and add spices or nuts, fruits, etc, and experiment. There is no limit to choices and if you have a small shop, you can even sell these treats. The options are endless.

Please make sure that all ingredients are measured right. Otherwise, the recipe could go wrong. Baking is science and even one bad step could ruin the result. One failed attempt is not the end and keep trying new recipes until you are confident that you can bake a cake successfully. Home bakers are now in demand. So, do try this recipe and post about it on Hive. You can also leave the post link in the comment section.

Thanks dear.

This is interesting! Btw the microwave that you have used is it the generic microwave or the one's used in baking?

Mine can be used for baking too but I think it can be tried in the normal one too.

Cool! Might try this on my oven.

Yay! 🤗
