Mashed Potatoes And Spinach With Cream

Hello foodies!

One simple meal to prepare, suitable for lunch or dinner. All the ingredients (well, almost everything, we don't grow milk and cream at home 😎) are from the home garden.
The dish is vegetable, and we can also serve some meat if desired.

We need (quantity for 4 people):

  • 1 kg of potatoes
  • 0.5 kg of spinach
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 deciliter of milk
  • 1 deciliter of cooking cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt and pepper as desired

Let’s tackle the potatoes first. Peel the potatoes, wash and cut into pieces.

In a larger pot pour water (a liter and a half to two), salt well, the potatoes go into the water and put to boil.

While the potatoes are cooking, we will prepare the spinach. This one is from the home garden, picked up 1 hour ago. We also need cream, 2 cloves of garlic, and olive oil for stewing.

Pour 2 tablespoons of oil into the pan and when the oil heats up, start stewing the spinach in the pan. After a few minutes of stewing, the spinach softens and shrinks. Add sliced ​​garlic.

A few more minutes (we need to stir constantly) and add 1 deciliter of cooking cream. When this thickens, the spinach is ready.

Back to the potatoes. The potatoes are already cooked and strained. It should be as soft as possible to make it easier to crush.
Dry the pot where we cooked it and add butter.
