
For the past few weeks, I have been spending more time at home, and during this quiet period, I decided to try something new that could make my days more fulfilling. That is how I discovered my love for baking. At first, I just wanted to try something that would help me relax, but eventually, it became something I genuinely enjoy. From baking cookies to making cupcakes and brownies, I found myself falling in love with the process of mixing, waiting, and finally tasting the sweet results of my effort.


The first thing I made was a batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies. They turned out soft, chunky, and filled with chocolate goodness. I was nervous at first because I thought baking was complicated, but as I watched the cookies slowly turn golden brown in the oven, I felt proud. The smell filled the kitchen, and I realized that baking could actually be calming and satisfying.
Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe:
• 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup butter (softened)
• 3/4 cup white sugar
• 3/4 cup brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 large eggs
• 2 cups chocolate chips
• 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Process:
• Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
• Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
• In another bowl, beat butter, white sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until creamy.
• Add eggs one at a time and mix well.
• Gradually add the flour mixture and stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
• Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.


Next, I tried baking Chocolate Cupcakes. These came out perfectly soft and rich, with a satisfying chocolate flavor that made me proud of my progress. I enjoyed watching them rise inside the oven and seeing how they turned out evenly baked and smooth on top. It felt like magic, seeing simple ingredients turn into something so beautiful and delicious.
Chocolate Cupcake Recipe:
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup cocoa powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup water
• 1/3 cup vegetable oil
• 1 tablespoon vinegar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Process:
• Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
• In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
• Add water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
• Pour the batter into liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
• Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.


Lastly, I made Fudgy Chocolate Brownies, which became an instant favorite. They were rich, moist, and perfectly chocolatey, just the way I like them. I loved the shiny top layer and how every slice looked dense and soft. These brownies were a little messy to make, but every bite made it worth it.
Fudgy Chocolate Brownies Recipe:
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1/3 cup cocoa powder
• 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Process:
• Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
• Melt the butter in a saucepan, then stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
• Add cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until fully combined.
• Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
• Let cool before cutting into squares and spreading chocolate frosting if desired.
As I baked more, I realized that this hobby was not only about food but also about patience and self-expression. Baking taught me how to follow steps carefully, stay focused, and appreciate the little victories, like seeing cookies rise or tasting something I made with my own hands. It also reminded me that every small progress counts and that mistakes can lead to learning.

There were moments when the cookies turned too brown or the batter was too thick, but instead of getting frustrated, I learned to enjoy the process. Every batch taught me something new. The best part is sharing these treats with my family and seeing their happy reactions. It feels good to make something that brings joy not just to me but to my family as well.
