Hello Gourmets!
I'm here with my favorite pastry among hot appetizer recipes. I usually call this recipe a lazy snack. Sometimes cooking is very difficult for me. I prepare practical recipes in such difficult moments. Today, I was too lazy to cook again, so I decided to make spring rolls with the phyllo dough in the cupboard. In my country, this break is hot. It is definitely served in every house at important moments or invitations. When I was a kid, when we went to parties, I always looked around to see if there was this pastry. I still love to consume it. Now let's talk about the recipe;
Ingredients;
- Potatoes (2 pieces)
- Cheese (You can use any kind you want.)
- Triangle Dough (or you can cut the round dough into a triangle)
- Salt - Ground Black Pepper Red Hot Chilli Powder
- Oil (for frying)
Let's peel the skins of the potatoes and add them to boil in a deep pot. Since I want it to be boiled quickly, I cut the potatoes into rings.
On the other hand, I grate the cheese until the potatoes are boiled. You can use any cheese you want here. I used Tulum cheese from the Izmir region. Sometimes I prepare it with cheddar cheese. You can shape it completely according to your taste. I prefer cheddar cheese the most. My mother loves the Tulum cheese one.
For this pastry, I used specially prepared and cut phyllo dough. Sometimes I buy the circular form from the shop that sells the round dough. I also prepare them by cutting them into triangles. If there is a market around you that sells Turkish products, you can definitely find this yufka.
You can see how I prepared the roll pastry in the images. I added the grated cheese to the very end, closed the edges and rolled it forward in the form of a roll.
After wrapping, I dip the end of the phyllo into a bowl filled with water so that the ends do not open, and make it stick. In this way, it will not open and scatter around while frying. I continued this process until the cheese was gone.
Potatoes were boiled as you can see. I mashed them with a fork.
I added seasoning to the potatoes. You can add whatever spices you like to eat the potato with. I added some salt and some Hot red pepper flakes.
And I added black pepper, which I like best to potatoes. Finally, of course, I had to get the approval of my chef. She said that after I made sure I added enough of the spices, I could continue the process.
I also rolled the potatoes in the same way. Now my rolls are ready to fry.
I laid out paper napkins on a large plate until the rolls were browned. I definitely add a napkin to absorb the excess oil in the pastry.
After frying, the great cook made me taste test again and I held my breath waiting for him to give his approval. After the chef gives valid points, I can now share the result with you with peace of mind.
Delicious Result!
My crispy pastry is ready!
Cigarette Borek is waiting for me to eat it. I'm going to finish my post soon and eat them with pleasure. If you can find the phyllo that I use, definitely try this recipe. It is both practical and delicious. Crispy on the outside but soft on the inside because of the potatoes.
See you in the next recipe. Take care of yourselves.
Love,
Enjoy your meal!
