Nobody likes spam, but the one in a square metal container, everyone likes that. ❤️
There are lots of dishes and snacks you can create with spam. You can add it on pasta, bread, salad, fry it as it is, or even turn it into fries!
Three days ago, my mother received the box sent by my aunt containing various goods including spam. Since we have a couple of spam right now, an idea sparked in my head.
Why don't we try making Spam Fries?
The first time I've tasted spam fries was way back 2015 when we ate at the Bunny Baker restaurant, a super cute restaurant in Metro Manila. Just look at the photo below. I really adored how they arranged the fries. You know, I tried imitating the arrangement but I failed! It keeps wobbling and doesn't look as nice as the one on the photo below.
Making the spam fries is really super easy! Here's how I did ours!

| ♥ 1 Can Spam | ||
| ♥ Flour | ||
| ♥ Bread Crumbs | ||
| ♥ 1 Egg | ||
| ♥ Ground Black Pepper | ||
| ♥ Paprika | ||
| ♥ Coconut Oil |
PROCEDURE
#1 Slice the spam into the shape of french fries. Some slice a column of 3, some go with 4. For us, we went for 4 to have more fries!
#2 Separately pour bread crumbs, flour, and one beaten egg on three containers. Dust and mix some ground black pepper and paprika into the flour and beaten egg.
#3 Get one spam stick and roll it first in the beaten egg, then on the flour, then back to the egg, back to the flour, then into the beaten egg again, then finally on the bread crumbs.
#4 In a frying pan, fry or deep fry the coated spam until color becomes golden brown
#5 Arrange it back into its metal container and pour some ketchup into the sauce plate. Enoy! (Or you can make a garlic mayo dip. )
How To Make Garlic Mayo Dip
I followed the recipe posted on epicurious. However, I changed the lemon into two small limes and the extra-virgin olive oil to coconut oil. We also lessened the measurement of oil to 1 tablespoon only and mayonnaise to 3 tablespoons.
(We forgot to add ground pepper and salt but the tastes is still good nonetheless!)

I guess learning how to make garlic mayo dip was the best part of this pseudo fries. The ketchup tasted okay but this garlic mayo was something else! The slight sour and garlic tastes in the mayo complement so well with the fries! It toned down the salty flavor of the spam. I can't stop eating it that's how good it is. ❤️
♥ Verdict! ♥
The spam fries I made tasted alright. Well, it's just the breading that's added. I realized the trick to make it taste really good is through its dip. And it's best to consume it right away while it is still crunchy.
The food looks really interesting on photos, no wonder why it became popular at some point a few years back.
