Tasty Chicken Biryani

Chicken Biryani is a delicious and flavorful dish that is popular in many parts of the world, particularly in the Indian subcontinent. Here's a recipe for you to make tasty chicken biryani at home:

Ingredients:

2 cups basmati rice, soaked for 30 minutes
500g chicken, cut into pieces
1 cup yogurt
2 onions, sliced
3 tomatoes, chopped
3 green chilies, slit
2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
1/2 cup chopped mint leaves
Salt, to taste
2 tbsp ghee or oil
1 tsp whole spices (cumin seeds, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon)
3 cups water
Instructions:

In a large pot, heat ghee or oil and add whole spices. Sauté for a minute.
Add sliced onions and fry until they turn golden brown.
Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, and fry for a minute.
Add chopped tomatoes and fry until they turn soft and mushy.
Add chicken pieces and fry until they turn golden brown.
Add red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add yogurt and mix well. Cook for a few minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
In a separate pot, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Add soaked rice and cook until the rice is 70% done. Drain the rice.
Spread half of the rice in a large pot. Add the chicken masala on top of the rice. Spread the remaining rice on top of the masala.
Add chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves on top of the rice.
Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked.
Serve hot with raita or salad.
