@foodiesunite

I have to tell you that after posting my mixed berry deep fried pie, I began to think about what type of pie I would personally love using this method. Well, this is what I chose to make this morning and the change was AMAZING!!

The thought of eating another one, truly has my mouth watering.

The sweet cream cheese stuffing was definitely a game changer and took the fried pie to a whole new level of decadence!

Ingredients:

1 Can Strawberry Pie Filling
1 Pkg Egg Roll Wrappers
1/4 Cup Butter
4 oz Cream Cheese
2 Cups Confectioners (powdered) Sugar (I used sugar replacement)
1/2 Fresh Lemon (you can also use 2 1/2 Tbsp of concentrate)
1 tsp Vanilla
2-3 Tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream

For the sweet cream cheese you will use cold butter and cold cream cheese (this helps stabilize the mix for deep frying).
Combine the Cream Cheese, butter, vanilla, lemon juice, and confectioners sugar in a medium glass bowl.

Using a Mixer mix the ingredients slowly to start, so you don't fling the ingredients all over the place (personal experience 😆)

Slowly increase the speed of your mixer (the mixture is going to be very thick cold butter consistency (that's exactly what you want).

This is what the finished sweet cream mixture should look like.

Begin assembling the pies:

Grab a small bowl of water to seal the pie at the end of the rolling process.

Spoon some sweet cream and strawberry pie filling side by side and begin the rolling process.

Fold the closest edge first

Then fold the other side

Pull one of the open ends around the mixture and begin rolling until you are almost at the end and dip your fingers into the water and dab the remaining wrapper before completing the rolling process (this seals the pie for the frying process).

Voila! You have a pie ready for frying.
My suggestion is to do all the rolling of your pies first so they have time to dry and seal completely.

Heat your Oil in whatever method of frying you choose... I used my client's little Fry Daddy, but a pan of oil on the stove works just as well. Please make sure the oil is thoroughly heated for frying.

Be sure that you are only frying 2 pies at a time so the heat of your oil recovers quickly for the next 2 pies you will fry after your first two are done.

Remove from the oil when they are golden brown

They look so pretty!

I chose NOT to dust these with Powdered Sugar, instead I decided to plate and use Whipped Cream on the top.

One last thing before I sign off and Post ... These pies can be frozen and when you're ready for another you can reheat by either using the oil process (I wouldn't leave them in for much more than a minute or two, or by placing them into the oven on 350 degrees for about 7-10 minutes.

Enjoy!!
