Last Sunday, after attending the worship service in Victory San Pablo, we went to Winged Potato - San Pablo. We had a pleasant experience, and the food was good, given the price that they were offering.
Though we are seeing this food joint, dining in this place is not included in our plans. It was lunchtime, and famous fast-food restaurants such as Jollibee, Mang-Inasal, and Mcdonalds were crowded. The only breakfast that we had was a few slices of bread, as we were in a hurry to attend the service that day.
When we arrived at the place no customers were eating. A group of people just arrived before us discussing what to order. They approached the cashier and asked if there were burgers available, but mentioned that they were not available at the moment.
They only have chicken wings and fries in their arsenal. Famished and not wanting to leave the place anymore, as the place was cozy, we sat down for a while and discussed what we would be ordering.
We picked Group Meal #2. This has eight pieces of chicken wings, two cups of rice, and 2 cups of iced tea. For the chicken wings, we can pick at least two flavors. The majority on the list are quite spicy, such as sweet chili, buffalo, and sriracha hence, we opted to order it. Instead, I picked Honey Garlic and Korean Style Sauce.
The waiting time isn't that much of an extreme. Chicken wings need to be cooked at least 10-12 minutes to make sure that it is not raw. Around that time, we waited. I also ordered some fries and added ranch dip as a condiment.
The wings are cooked perfectly. Both April and I enjoyed the Honey Garlic sauce covering the wings. It is not that sweet that will make your tastebuds cringe at all. For the Korean Style, I can taste the strong kick of ginger in the sauce. I can relate the taste to the chicken feet that I cooked previously, as the taste was too flavorful.
The fries went in after a few bites of eating the chicken. We ordered an additional cup of rice as the two were not enough in our starving stomachs. I wasn't able to take a picture of the fries that were delivered to us as we were dead hungry still. The taste is okay, it isn't soggy or dry.
Dyn-dyn saw us dipping our fries in the ranch sauce and ketchup and she imitated the gestures that we did too.
She never did such an act when we were eating fries at home but she got enticed and copied us. Each time that she dipped the fries, she just tasted the sauce and then went back to dipping the fries again. She never ate the dipped fries 😀
Being true to their main product in store which is chicken I can say that though the place is somehow not being visited by people in our area it is worth a try. The servers were pleasant too and kept on smiling at Dyn-Dyn as she roamed around the premises.
We will go back and order food and hopefully, we can try their burgers as well. Or maybe avail of their unlimited chicken, rice, and drinks for only 349 PHP.
