With a spongy texture on the palate, and an exquisite taste and aroma of lemon and vanilla, this is the cake we will prepare. A recipe that you will love, and with which you will have a great afternoon snack.
2 cups of leavened wheat flour | 5 eggs | 1 1/2 cups of sugar | 75 ml of milk |
---|---|---|---|
3 tbsp. vegetable oil | 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder | Lemon zest | Vanilla essence |
In a bowl add the egg whites and bring to a boil, add half the sugar and mix until they form peaks, set aside. In another bowl pour the yolks, oil, milk, vanilla and remaining sugar, beat the ingredients until they take a creamy consistency. Add the grated lemon rind and gradually add the previously sifted flour. You will notice that the mixture will become thick, don't worry, when you add the meringue it will take the desired consistency.
Now with a wooden palette, add the meringue little by little with winding movements, gently to avoid losing the air of the meringue; this is what will give the cake its smoothness.
Once the preparation is ready, pour it into a previously floured and buttered mould and bake in the oven at 180ºC for about 35 to 40 minutes. It will depend on your oven.
Decorate to taste,
