Last Weekend , i and my friends had a chance to eat to the newly open seafood restaurant called the Prawn House located here in Pagadian City, Province of Zamboanga del Sur. Since its our breaktime, we decided to satisfy our cravings for seafoods specially for shrimps. For many busy professionals like us who are in the field of teaching , eating out provide a much-needed break from the stresses of daily life and work . Instead of rushing to prepare a meal at home or eating regularly at office , you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the ambiance of a restaurant.

I guess you would agree with me that staying indoors for a very long time can be quite detrimental to your health. And the more you stay in the fresh air, the healthier you are. So, eating outdoors is an opportunity to relax mentally and be healthy emotionally , which is especially important when you are stuck in that old and depressing 8 to 5 in-the-office routine.

The Foods

Eating seafoods can be quite challenging and messy. There are also people who are allergic to seafoods. But nonetheless, there are a lot of reasons why you should be eating seafoods. Seafood like clams, shrimps, lobster and crabs offer a wide variety of flavors and textures, making it a versatile ingredient in many cuisines. This variety can make it easier to incorporate healthy options into your diet.

Here's what we ordered.

Garlic Buttered Shrimp

Shrimp! Shrimp! Of course its our favorite. This food will always be in our heart. An amazing flavor combination of garlicky, buttery goodness that smells so good. What i like about their garlic butter shrimp here is that it was not overcooked. The texture and flavors were just so balanced. As a seafood lover, i've read somewhere that this dish is believed to have originated in the southern regions of European countries, where seafood is a staple in the local cuisine.
This garlic butter shrimp for me is always a superior dish in many ways. It is a perfect balance of flavors, with the rich and creamy butter sauce complementing the succulent and slightly sweet shrimp. We can also sense that the shrimp cooked here is always fresh. The garlic adds a pungent and savory note to the dish, while the herbs and spices used in the sauce add depth and complexity.

Shrimp with a lot of CHEESE

While this second order of ours is another shrimp, but this time with a lot of cheese toppings to it. I forgot what's the exact name of this dish but all i can say is that its perfectly cooked. So when it comes to combining seafood and cheese, it always surprises me that many of my friends in the restaurant , even many self-described gourmands, are adamantly against it. Seafood and cheese is one of those combinations that might sound strange at first glance, you might think its weird, right? But makes perfect sense when you consider the many times you might have enjoyed it without even thinking about it. Whether you're a fan of seafood or not, one bite of this dish will leave you wanting more.

The Calamares

To be honest, i'm not usually a fan of Calamares but my friends are so we also order one. So a little trivia, “Calamar” is the Spanish word for squid (calamari)and the foodstuff is usually in plural though, “calamares” Also, Calamari is the plural form of the Italian word for squid, calamaro. I actually tastes some and thanks goodness it was great! Calamari does not taste traditionally “fishy.” Instead, it usually has a firm, chewy texture and a neutral to slightly sweet taste that takes on the flavors of whatever it is cooked in and overall its was great. Additional tip to this is the way of cooking this makes a different. Deep frying is often a good way to go, because the crumb coating protects the meat from the hot oil, and thin pieces cook very quickly, so they don't have a chance to toughen up especially the meat and flavor of it.

Grilled Tuna Panga

Who does not Fish? Grilling fish always fun because it is quick and easy, making it a convenient option for busy weeknights or casual gatherings. It can be paired with a variety of sides and sauces for a balanced meal, right? Grilled Tuna Panga is one of the best dishes in the Philippines that just never fails to leave people in awe because of its mouthwatering flavor. We decided to order as well grilled tuna Panga. As soon as the dish arrived, we noticed the aromatic smell of it. the grilling gives the fish a nice smoky flavor. The tuna was basted with sweet soy sauce (or teriyaki sauce) while grilling. The fattier and tastier meat of the tuna fish that has been freshly marinated in a sweet and savory sauce and grilled over hot coils. Their tuna is tasty, attributing to its sophisticated seasonings. They also have a special sauce placed in a container that I really liked because of its sweetness and a little spice in it.
The high protein content and low-calorie nature of grilled fish help us in feeling full and satisfied.

The Fruit Shake

The fruit shake was refreshing, its authentic fruit indeed! We ordered Watermelon, Mango and Avocado. It was a perfect wrapped up for all the meat especially the seafoods that we had eaten. The fruit shake is not that sweet which is an ideal thing for me. It definitely help us feel full and satisfied and eliminate food cravings making it easier to stick to a calorie-controlled diet.

To sum up everything, we were completely satisfied and happy with all the things we had during the lunch break on weekend . For us, eating outside for once in a while provide a great opportunity for socializing with friends, family and realizing the good benefit it provides. Sharing a meal can strengthen relationships and foster connections with one another.
Overall, weekends are fun for us working professionals because they offer a respite from the routine, opportunities for enjoyment and adventure, and the chance to connect with loved ones and explore personal interests in life (like eating seafoods).

That's all for today's food blog. I hope you' enjoy it !
