RE: Memories of the Ocean [Ocean Lovers Challenge]

in Ocean Lovers5 days ago

Read this yesterday on my phone but didn't comment. I hate commenting on that thing. So here goes.

The ocean has always been there for me.
Not just as scenery. As a constant companion through every stage of my life.

❤️ This went straight to the heart (though admittedly, I've a similar relationship with the sea). I find it strange that for some people, it's just this 'whatever' holiday thing, going to the beach. It's a prayer, I think.

Even now, when I walk down onto a beach and feel that cold water around my legs, something inside me settles instantly it's my happy place.

It's like a switch. I know there's plenty of research on it, on its impact on mental health or what not, but I think there's still some magic at play there.

How difficult is it to SUP?

Oh hey you know I've started to use the dictator on my phone to comment but that doesn't work in public obviously (what a twat I'd be!)

To SUP - oh goodness, maybe I should write about it. Flatwater sup is easy - you get the hang of it fast. Surfing/on chop is hard - took me a whole summer and I knew how to surf already!
