Joining the Boys Brigade which is a christian organisation since 2013 (9 years ago) have been a wonderful decision I really took as a teenager, back then I really dont know about this organisation but I do see some group of boys dressing in good uniform and handling the drums in a good way and also playing the musical instruments on the street and all we have to do is to run after them. It was a funny moment but me and my younger brother were curious to know what is actually going on until we followed them to church and decided to join. We later find out it was founder by Sir Williams Alexander Smith in 1883 and it came to Nigeria in 1908.

At first I was the bass drummer for some years because I was really interested in the drum and musical part, then I moved to the snare part and finally became a trumpeter. This organisation taught me a lot of things about life and the survival part of it. Every year we have an enrolment service and anniversary where we all come together to enrol new members who are interested, promote members who are really working hards and creating impact in the organisation and also awards the patrons and patroness who are always in support.

We had our enrolment service and anniversary recently and we took some pictures which I love to share on this platform

I always wanted to join boys brigade but then I was not opportune to join because of some reason beyond my control, this is one of the paramilitary group I like so much then. You guys are wonderful, always looking good with that uniform.

thanks @monenoatat you can always join anytime, it is an open organisation for all

Thank you.

I grew up at a methodist church in texas and it was a beautiful experience, during that time , many of us were asked to join the boys brigade which was part of the major band at the church at that time , I was really interested back then but school and work carried me to another country at that time and I was able to join and be active at that time..Though my younger siblings joined at that time and I am always admiring them whenever I see them on that boys brigade uniform....They are always proud and excited to be members of the boys brigade...
