Greetings to all the dear readers of this immense platform of creators.
Today I come to talk to you about a dance piece, Venezuelan contemporary dance, a piece that composes a good understanding of a certain part of the popular culture in Venezuela, the culture of the neighborhood, a vibrant neighborhood full of color and life, with codes and characteristics as references in its development of everyday language, unique to the piece, which rightly determines a social context that allows us to appreciate the most beautiful of popular cultures, the mobilities of the interpreters who unknowingly were already impregnated with these body languages, and transform them into physical gestures, to bring it to the contemporary Venezuelan scene. This work was undoubtedly considered the masterpiece of Venezuelan choreographer Felix Oropeza.
A work that I had the opportunity to dance it in two seasons, in a total of 6 functions, certainly a piece that I enjoyed very much, since it is composed of a structure that is divided by scenes, most of them with specific guidelines of improvisation directed by Oropeza, and others with choreographies more composed with clear codes of Venezuelan contemporary dance.
It could be said that poetically it is a formula to bring the public closer to popular cultures in Venezuela, destigmatize the neighborhood and elevate the tastiness in all its glory, with its characters, the scenery, the bochinche, the drink, the popular games, the music and its lighting, this piece known as "El solar de los aburridos" was premiered in 2016 by the first cast of the Teresa Danza Contemporánea company, resident company of the Teresa Carreño Theater. In its first season it was a tribute to the Venezuelan set designer Rafael Sequera, who that same year before his death designed the scenography of "Solar de los Aburridos".
This work of colorful character, full of life and vibrant jumps, with different characters that give a unique touch of energy to the staging, by the same composition the closeness with the public has a considerable volume, since the closing of the work involves all the spectators in a great salsa party, demonstrating that the Venezuelan always has an attitude up despite the adversities, a lively soul, a partying and cheerful spirit, characters that Oropeza manages to transmit very well.
In the play we can appreciate very common characters in Venezuelan culture, such as the street vendor, popularly known as "bachaqueras", the neighborhood kids, athletes who want to get ahead and sport is a way to stay away from drugs, and the conflicts of culture, motorcycle cabs, high school graduates, yerbateras, drunks, among other characters that are common walkers in our Venezuelan culture.
I could affirm that this piece is the only work that has the essential purpose of empowering the Venezuelan popular culture, transforming the marginal image that is always sold of the neighborhood and its inhabitants, to turn it into a good reference of pride that juxtaposes us as Venezuelans, artists, makers of the Venezuelan contemporary scene.
El Solar de los Aburridos

Hoy vengo a hablarles de una obra de danza, danza contemporánea venezolana, una obra que compone una buena comprensión de cierta parte de la cultura popular en Venezuela, la cultura del barrio, un barrio vibrante lleno de color y vida, con códigos y características como referencias en su desenvolvimiento del lenguaje cotidiano, único de la pieza, que acertadamente la determina un contexto social que nos permite apreciar lo más hermoso de las culturas populares, las movilidades de los interpretes que sin saberlo ya estaban impregnados de estos lenguajes corporales, y transformarlos en gestos físicos, para llevarlo a la escena contemporánea venezolana. Obra que sin duda la consideró la pieza maestra del coreógrafo venezolano Felix Oropeza.
Una obra que tuve la oportunidad de bailarla en dos temporadas, en un total de 6 funciones, ciertamente una pieza que disfrute mucho, ya que se compone de una estructura que se dividen por escenas, la gran mayoría con pautas específicas de improvisación dirigidas por Oropeza, y otras con puestas coreografícas más compuestas con códigos claros de la danza contemporánea venezolana.
Podría decirse que poéticamente es una formula para acercar al público a las culturas populares en venezuela, desestigmatizar el barrio y elevar la sabrosura por todo lo alto, con sus personajes, la escenografía, el bochinche, el trago, los juegos populares, la música y su iluminación, esta pieza conocida como "El solar de los aburridos" fue estrenada en el año 2016 por el primer elenco de la compañía Teresa Danza Contemporánea, compañía residente del Teatro Teresa Carreño. En su primera temporada fue un homenaje al escenógrafo venezolano Rafael Sequera, que ese mismo año antes de su fallecer diseño la escenografía del "Solar de los Aburridos".
Esta obra de carácter colorido ,llena de vida y saltos vibrantes, con diferentes personajes que dan con un toque único de energía a la puesta en escena, por la misma composición la cercanía con el público tiene un volumen considerable, ya que el cierra de la obra involucra a todos los espectadores en una gran fiesta de salsa, demostrando que el/la venezolana/o siempre tiene una actitud arriba a pesar de las adversidades, un alma viva, un espíritu fiestero y alegre, caracteres que Oropeza lograr trasmitir muy bien.
En la obra podemos apreciar personajes muy comunes en la cultura venezolana, como la vendedora ambulante, popularmente conocida como "bachaqueras", los chicos del barrio, deportistas que quieren salir adelante y el deporte es una forma de mantenerse alejado de las drogas, y los conflictos de la cultrura, moto taxis, bachilleres, yerbateras, borrachos, entre otros personajes que son paseantes comunes en nuestra cultura venezolana.
Podría afirmar que está pieza es la única obra que tiene con fin esencial potenciar la cultura popular venezolana transformando la imagen marginal que siempre venden del barrio y sus habitantes, para convertirla en una buena referencia de orgullo que nos yuxtaposiciona como venezolanos, artistas, hacedores de la escena contemporánea venezolana.
