RE: Foreign interference in Moldovan elections? Founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, claims an EU member state pressured him to censor channels associated with Moldovan elections, while Moldova is not part of the EU.

I was very uneasy about the bridge situation throughout the day. Sounded too much like foul-play.

Was it truly the democratic result of the election? I don't honestly know. After what happened with our own elections in Romania in December and then May, I'm doubtful. On the other hand, I do sympathize greatly with Moldova's precarious position (lacking so much EU and NATO protection, if protection it be). I understand why they might go this way.

However, none of this is truly representative, nor is it a reason for the EU to celebrate the result.

Precisely my thought. From all this intense focus on Moldova, it does seem to me to be a battleground of some sort for other forces. And frankly, that never ends well, particularly for a country so poor and exposed as Moldova.
