Nirgendwo, das heißt runter von der belebten Straße und rauf auf den Schotterweg. Das funktioniert bei mir in der Umgebung immer noch recht gut. Würde ich in der Hauptstadt Kuala Lumpur wohnen wäre das ganze nicht mehr so leicht. Jedenfalls nicht ohne mit einem Auto oder anderweitigen Transportmitteln eine weitere Reise auf sich zu nehmen.
Nowhere, which means off the busy road and up onto the gravel path. That still works pretty well for me in the local area. If I lived in the capital Kuala Lumpur, the whole thing would no longer be so easy. At least not without taking a journey with a car or other means of transportation.
Dem Weg, den ich gefolgt bin, verlief neben einem Fluss der von Nord nach Süd auf der Westseite von Pulau Pinang verläuft.
The path I followed ran next to a river that runs from north to south on the west side of Pulau Pinang.
Wer sich jetzt fragt, von welchem Fluss Irgendwo da schreibt, der sollte nicht nach Wasser suchen auf den Bildern, sondern auf die Wasserpflanzen schauen. Diese bedecken den ganzen Fluss an dieser Stelle vollständig und bilden, wie hier zu sehen, eine dichte grüne Fläche. Es ist also ratsam ein wenig aufzupassen, wohin man tritt, um nicht unfreiwillig schwimmen zu gehen.
Who now wonders, from which river Irgendwo is writing, should not look for water on the pictures, but look at the water plants. These cover the whole river at this spot completely and form, as seen here, a dense green area. So it is advisable to be a little careful where you step, so as not to go swimming involuntarily.
An einer anderen Stelle kam das für Südostasien typische braun trübe Wasser eines Flusses zum Vorschein. Die Palmen links gehören zu einer Ölbaumplantage.
In another location, the brown murky water of a river, typical for Southeast Asia, appeared. The palms on the left belong to an oil tree plantation.
Auf meiner Tour bin ich einigen Rindern (vermutlich Kedah Kelantan, KK) begegnet. Wie nicht anders gewohnt, sind die Tiere nicht eingezäunt und selten angeleint und haben daher eine relativ große Bewegungsfreiheit.
On my tour I came across some cattle (probably Kedah Kelantan, KK). As not otherwise known, the animals are not fenced and rarely leashed and therefore have a relatively large freedom of movement.
Ab hier gibt es einen wilden Mix aus freier Ebene umgeben von dicht bewachsenem Gebiet mit einem sumpfähnlichen Boden.
From here on there is a wild mix of open plain surrounded by densely vegetated area with a swamp-like ground.
Als ich querfeldein gelaufen bin, musste ich wieder Aufpassen, wohin ich trete. Einiger der mit Wasser und Schlamm befühlten Löcher im Boden sind gut getarnt. Ausprobieren, ob ich darin stecken bleiben kann, wollte ich nicht.
When I walked cross-country, I had to watch where I was stepping again. Some of the holes in the ground filled with water and mud are well camouflaged. Trying out whether I can get stuck in them, I did not want.
Anschließend bin ich dann hier gelandet und bekam einige recht interessante Bäume zu sehen. Ich denke, der ein oder andere hat genau solch einen Wald vor Augen, wenn an Südostasien gedacht wird.
Afterwards I landed here and got to see some quite interesting trees. I think some of you have just such a forest in mind when thinking of Southeast Asia.
Ich muss erwähnen der Wald, wie hier zu sehen, beschränkte sich auf ein kleineres Gebiet und ist nicht allzu typisch für Malaysia. Jedenfalls nicht hier, in meiner Ecke.
I have to mention the forest, as seen here, was limited to a smaller area and is not too typical for Malaysia. At least not here, in my corner.
