Reise nach Spanien
Eigentlich wollte ich gestern früh ins Bett, damit ich heute auch gut ausgeschlafen bin.
Am Ende hat es natürlich nicht geklappt und ich habe mich bei einer runde "Into the Breach verzockt". Um 2:30 bin ich schließlich ins Bett. Um 05:30 klingelte der Wecker.
Duschen, anziehen, mit der Familie frühstücken und direkt ins Auto. die Große war schon für die Schule fertig, die kleine noch im Schlafanzug, als wir uns ins Auto setzten.
Travel to Spain
Actually, I wanted to go to bed early yesterday so that I would be well rested today.
Of course it didn't work out in the end and I gambled myself away with a round of "Into the Breach". At 2:30 I finally went to bed. At 05:30 the alarm clock rang.
Showered, got dressed, had breakfast with the family and straight into the car. My older one was already ready for school, the little one still in her pajamas, when we sat into the car.
Meine Teamkollegen sind alle nur mit einem Trolley angereist. Ich hatte natürlich wieder einen Koffer dabei. Könnte ja alles kommen, von absoluter Hitze bis Blizzard.
My teammates all arrived with only a trolley. Of course, I had a suitcase with me again. Could come yes everything, from absolute heat to blizzard.
Es war sehr früh. Einige andere waren wohl auch schon unterwegs, wie man an den kondenzstreifen sehen kann.
Auf dem Bild kommt es leider nicht so gut rüber, aber es waren 8 Flieger direkt hintereinander zu sehen.
It was very early. Some others were probably already on the way, as you can see from the condensation stripes.
On the picture it comes unfortunately not so well rüber, but there were 8 fliers directly behind each other to see.
Chaos in Frankfurt
Am Frankfurter Flughafen war wie immer viel los.
Das Aufgeben meines Gepäcks lief sehr gut, auch wenn ich es unter dem Namen eines kollegen aufgeben musste, da die Übermittlung von Check 24 zur Lufthansa nicht richtig funktioniert hatte. Egal, es klappte.
Bei unserem Gate A38 wurden wir stutzig. Würden wir auch so eine Rundreise im Flughafen haben, wie Asterix und Obelix im Haus das Verrückte macht?
Chaos in Frankfurt
Frankfurt airport was busy as usual.
Checking in my luggage went very well, even though I had to check it in under the name of a colleague because the transmission from Check 24 to Lufthansa had not worked properly. No matter, it worked.
At our gate A38 we became suspicious. Would we also have such a round trip in the airport, as Asterix and Obelix in the house that makes crazy people?
Unser Verdacht bestätigte sich. A38 liegt fast am Ende der Gates in der Halle A. Wir sind bis dorthin gelaufen, um dort zu lesen, dass wir doch an Gate A25 einchecken.
Also auf dem weg zu A25 gemacht und dort gewartet.
Warum habe ich jetzt ein Bild von A19. Weil kurz vorm Boarding die Information kam, dass wir doch an A19 das Flugzeug besteigen.
Trotz allem sind wir pünktlich gen Valencia gestartet, wo wir dann unseren Mietwagen in Empfang nahmen.
Our suspicions were confirmed. A38 is almost at the end of the gates in Hall A. We walked there to read that we were checking in at gate A25 after all.
So made our way to A25 and waited there.
Why do I have a picture of A19 now. Because shortly before boarding the information came that we board the plane at A19.
Despite everything, we took off on time to Valencia, where we then received our rental car.
Hmmm lecker
Unser erster Stop galt einem Lidl (nächster Supermarkt zum Flughafen Valencia), wo wir uns erstmal etwas zum Mittagessen geholt haben.
Die Frischetheke ist hier schon etwas anders bestückt als in Deutschland.

Our first stop was a Lidl (nearest supermarket to Valencia airport), where we first got something for lunch.
The fresh food counter here is stocked a bit differently than in Germany.
In der Nähe unserer Unterkunft haben wir dann einen Carefour geplündert.
Bier, Cola, Wasser und die notwendigsten Lebensmittel für die nächsten Tage plus lecker Scampi, Rinderfilets und Putenspieße für unser BBQ am Abend.
Insgesamt ca. 150 €. Das hätte in Deutschland fast das doppelte gekostet. Gerade die Preise für Fleisch und Scampi haben mich wirklich überrascht.
Near our accommodation we then plundered a Carefour.
Beer, Coke, water and the most necessary food for the next few days plus delicious scampi, beef fillets and turkey skewers for our BBQ in the evening.
In total about 150 €. That would have cost almost double in Germany. Especially the prices for meat and scampi really surprised me.
Unser Chalet
Was ihr hier seht ist nicht etwa der Eingang zu einer Parkanlage, sondern der Zugang zu unserer Behausung während des Worldcups.

What you see here is not the entrance to a park, but the entrance to our chalet during the World Cup.
Auf der Liege hinter dem Pool sieht man schon den ersten Hausgast.
On the lounger behind the pool you can already see the first house guest.
Katze Nummer 2 war etwas zutraulicher und lies sich sogar kraulen.
Cat number 2 was a bit more trusting and even let himself be cuddled.
Insgesamt verfügt das Haus über 2 Wohnzimmer, 4 Schlafzimmer und 3 Bäder. Da kann man es zu fünft durchaus aushalten.
Wir haben kurzerhand eines der Betten ins 2. Wohnzimmer gestellt, wo ich nun nächtigen werde.
So stört keiner von uns den anderen durch übermäßiges schnarchen in der Nacht.
In total, the house has 2 living rooms, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Quite nice for 5 people.
We have unceremoniously put one of the beds in the 2nd living room, where I will now spend the night.
So none of us disturbs the other by excessive snoring at night.
Abendlicher Ausklang
Während wir den Grill angeheizt haben, haben wir erstmal den Pool ausprobiert.
Die Bilder erspare ich Euch an der Stelle. Es war jedoch sehr erfrischend vor allem mit einem kühlen Alhambra in der Hand.
Als Ausklang Surf & Turf.
Jetzt sitzen wir auf der Couch und tauschen noch ein paar alte Bloodbowlgeschichten aus, bevor es dann zu Bett geht.
Morgen wollen wir zuerst Alicante besuchen, bevor es nachmittags an den Strand geht.
Abends wird die Weltmeisterschaft im Hafen von Alicante eröffnet.
Ob ich danach noch einen Blogeintrag verfassen werde, kann ich noch nicht sagen. Spätestens nach Tag 1 wird aber ein Artikel erscheinen, mit Bildern des Tages, sowie den Ergebnissen der ersten 3 Spiele.

Evening finale
While we heated up the grill, we first tried out the pool.
I spare you the pictures at this point. But it was very refreshing especially with a cool Alhambra in the hand.
As a finale Surf & Turf.
Now we sit on the couch and exchange some old Bloodbowl stories before it's time for bed.
Tomorrow we want to visit Alicante first, before we go to the beach in the afternoon.
In the evening the world championship will be opened in the harbor of Alicante.
Whether I will write a blog entry after that, I can't say yet. But at the latest after day 1 an article will appear, with pictures of the day, as well as the results of the first 3 games.
