Yes, it was on HiQ and it was quite a while ago. Even on Hive Lern & More, people don't sit in the voice channel regularly, but you can arrange to chat at any time. There are enough voice channels available.
You're absolutely right, Hive is more than just the reward, which is why I think virtual get-togethers and exchanges in personal conversations are very important. It's easier than physical meetings and there are no travel costs or entrance fees.

As already mentioned, the meetup is only in German. However, you are welcome to meet up with those on the server who speak English for a free conversation in the voice channels. To do so, it is possibly necessary to arrange a specific time or see who is currently available.
