Da wären wir also, am letzten Tag des Jahres. Ein paar Stunden bleiben uns noch, bevor ein neues Monat und ein neues Jahr ihre Türen öffnen und uns einlassen in noch unbekannte 365 Tage. Heute werde ich es wohl etwas entspannt angehen und mich zum Ende des Tages einfach ein wenig entspannen. Wahrscheinlich gibt es später auch noch etwas Leckeres zu Essen und vielleicht genehmige ich mir auch noch einen Drink. Warum auch nicht, das Jahr war anstrengend und gerade auf den letzten Metern haben sich noch einmal so einige Dinge angestaut, auf die ich eigentlich hätte verzichten wollen. Aber davon will ich jetzt eigentlich gar nichts mehr wissen.
Lieber schaue ich noch einmal auf unseren letzten kleinen Spaziergang zurück, der uns wie im letzten Jahr zu einem Schrein in der Nähe gebracht hatte. Nun bereits zum dritten Mal haben wir den hier lebenden Kami zum Ende des Jahres unsere Aufwartung gemacht, uns hier ein wenig umgesehen, und dabei auch unseren Spaß gehabt.
Wahrscheinlich ist dies genau der richtige Ausklang zum Ende des Jahres. Es braucht nicht immer viel Brimborium, um die richtige Atmosphäre zu kreieren und um sich gut zu fühlen. Mir scheint es auch zu helfen, ein wenig besser zu reflektieren und dabei die einen oder anderen Probleme für eine Weile zu vergessen. Und um diese Stimmung noch ein wenig zu erhalten, mache ich für dieses Jahr hier Feierabend und wünsche euch allen einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr.

Here we are, on the last day of the year. A few hours remain before a new month and a new year open their doors and let us into some still unknown 365 days. Today, I think I'll take it easy and just relax a bit as the day comes to a close. There will probably be something tasty to eat later and maybe I'll treat myself to a drink. Why not, the year was exhausting and just on the last meters some stressful things, which I didn't need at all, have accumulated. But I don't really want to know anything about that now.
I'd rather look back at our last little walk, which brought us to a shrine nearby, just like last year. This was the third time we visited the kami living here at the end of a fading year, and we took some time to have a look around and to have some fun as well.
This is probably just the right way to end the year. It doesn't always take a lot of fuss to create the right atmosphere and make you feel good. To me it also seems to help to reflect a better, and to forget a problem or two for a while. And to keep this mood going for a while longer, I'll call it a day over here and continue to take care of the people around me. And as we say in German: Euch allen einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr!
