Possible explanation for the recent Bitcoin crash (October/November 2025), Strategy (MSTR) vs J.P. Morgan, real or just FUD?

Mittlerweile kursieren auf X zahlreiche Erklärungen für den starken Einbruch von Bitcoin, wobei man wie immer solche Theorien mit Vorsicht genießen sollte.

Eine gängige Erklärung ist ein Machtkampf zwischen Old vs. New Finance und auch die Trump-Regierung könnte mit den Stablecoin-Plänen und offenen Krypto-Support darin involviert sein und auf Widerstände bei Old Fi stoßen.

Ein mögliches Delisting aus dem MSCI Index von (Micro) Strategy (MSTR), steht im Raum. Es soll evaluiert werden, ob Strategy tatsächlich eine Tech-Firma oder eher ein Fund ist.

Diese Entscheidung wird für Anfang 2026 erwartet, wobei der Ausgang noch offen ist. Bei einer Einstufung als Fond könnte MSTR in Folge dann auch aus anderen Indizes wie dem Nasdaq fliegen, was negative Auswirkungen auf den MSTR-Kurs aber nicht unbedingt auf die Bitcoin-Käufe von MSTR hätte.

Auf X wird weiter spekuliert, dass J.P. Morgan wegen großen Short-Positionen ein Interesse daran hätte, MSTR unter Druck zu setzen.

Allerdings sind diese ganzen Gerüchte nur schwer überprüfbar. Jedenfalls würde selbst ein Delisting von MSTR nicht automatisch bedeuten, dass MSTR keine Bitcoin mehr kaufen könnte oder liquidiert werden müsste. Diese Sorgen sind meiner Meinung nach völlig übertrieben.

Strategy bietet Digital Asset Treasury-Dienstleistungen (DAT) für seine Kunden an, was zunächst unabhängig vom Aktienkurs und dem Listing von MSTR ist.

Aber natürlich hätte ein Delisting negative Auswirkungen auf den Markt, eher psychologische als reale, aber es könnte Teil eines größeren Machtkampfs um die Vorherrschaft von Bitcoin-Treasury-Produkten darstellen und einige Player haben vielleicht tatsächlich ein Interesse, MSTR zu Fall zu bringen.

Meanwhile, numerous explanations for Bitcoin's sharp decline are circulating on X, although, as always, such theories should be taken with a grain of salt.

One common explanation is a power struggle between old and new finance, and the Trump administration could also be involved in this with its stablecoin plans and open crypto support, encountering resistance from old fi.

A possible delisting of (Micro) Strategy (MSTR) from the MSCI Index is on the table. An evaluation is to be made as to whether Strategy is actually a tech company or more of a fund.

This decision is expected in early 2026, with the outcome still open. If classified as a fund, MSTR could then also be removed from other indices such as the Nasdaq, which would have a negative impact on the MSTR price but not necessarily on MSTR's Bitcoin purchases.

There is further speculation on X that J.P. Morgan would have an interest in putting pressure on MSTR due to large short positions.

However, all these rumors are difficult to verify. In any case, even a delisting of MSTR would not automatically mean that MSTR could no longer buy Bitcoin or would have to be liquidated. In my opinion, these concerns are completely exaggerated.
