This film is a suspense thriller written and directed by Joby Harold and was his directorial debut.
The plot centres on a man named Clay Beresford, played by Hayden Christensen, who suffers from a rare condition called conscious anaesthesia, in which he remains conscious during surgery despite being apparently anaesthetised.
During a heart transplant operation, Clay becomes aware of a conspiracy against him and struggles to survive while completely immobilised on the operating table.

The film explores themes of betrayal, deception and the struggle for survival in extreme situations.
With surprising twists and a tension-filled atmosphere, "Awake" keeps the viewer on edge as the truth behind the conspiracy unravels.

Jessica Alba as Sam Lockwood: Sam is Clay's wife and is concerned about his health. She is a constant support for him during his medical experience.
Terrence Howard as Dr. Jack Harper: Dr. Harper is the doctor in charge of Clay's surgery. His character faces ethical and personal challenges during the procedure.
Lena Olin who is Clay's mother and is concerned and suspicious of her son's decision to have the transplant with the doctor.
Although it received mixed reviews, "Awake" is considered an entertaining film for fans of suspense and medical thrillers.

The performances of the leads, as well as the direction of Joby Harold, are outstanding in this production.
I personally enjoyed it very much and found it to be an excellent choice where the twists and turns take you by surprise.
