We all have favorite movies that we would re-watch without hesitating. Last year was amazing for me because I had the time to see lots of movies, but this year, I can count how many movies I have watched so far. My favorite movies from last year are four and all of them are action-packed. Why this? Because I love action films. Action films are my favorite.
One of my favorite movies from last year is Jolt. Jolt is an action film with Kate Beckinsale as the main character. I love this movie because of her. No movie of hers passes me by since I came across her first movie, The Underworld series. This movie revolves around a lady who was diagnosed with an "impulse control problem” stimulated by anger which she has had since her childhood. With her disorder, she was subjected to lots of experiments, traumatic experiences, and every possible trauma you could think of.
All was not lost because her therapist found a solution to her disorder by creating a vest of electrodes through which she administers herself electric shocks, zapping her anger fantasies into submission whenever she gets irritated or angry and wants to cause problems. On a fateful night when she met a man, her whole life took a different turn.
Through this different journey, she was betrayed, heartbroken, deceived, and also used for a field experiment without her knowledge. The movie was thrilling and intense for me, I enjoyed every part of it and enjoyed the presence of Kate Beckinsale.
My second favorite movie is Free Guy. This movie is one of the best video game movies I have seen. It is unique. If you are a fan of video games you will understand what I am talking about. This movie centers around the main character Guy, a non-player character in a video game called "Free city". In his regular programmed route, Guy wanted to evolve so that he could have his own unique life, to be able to do anything he wants and to be able to make decisions by himself and not by programmed algorithms or codes.
I love this movie a lot because the movie was well planned, well written, and well organized. I was impressed with every scene and the creativity of the visual effects was amazing. The cast also did wonderfully, especially my favorite, Ryan Reynolds. Also, all the action scenes were acted with passion and zeal. One thing I learned from this movie is always know that as the earth revolves around the sun you should make efforts every day to evolve into someone better.
The third movie is F9: The Fast Saga. The Fast and Furious series is one of my favorite movie series. Why? Because I love cars, it's action-packed, interesting, full of energy, and exciting to watch. Vin Diesel is one of the reasons why I watch the series. This particular sequel is the ninth installment in the series and the upgrade that was brought to this sequel was amazing. The technology and drones were mind-blowing.
This sequel tells us how and why Dominic is who he is and all the events that took place in his early life and how it has shaped his life. Dominic thought he was out of the game until his long-lost brother Jakob was involved in the mission Mr. Nobody had asked Dominic to handle earlier. A popular saying "There's always two sides to the coin if you have the patience to see" - Kathryn Budig was portrayed in the movie which led to a vital lesson I learned; that one has to be patient and not fast to conclude in any situation.
Last but not least is, Red Notice. When I saw the trailer of this movie I became anxious as to when the movie was going to be out. This movie blew my mind away and I was very impressed with it. I can say that this movie is the best on Netflix and one of the most thrilling movies on Netflix regardless of the early critics. I can't speak for other viewers but for me, it was a thrilling ride. Also, it starred all my favorite actors; Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot.
This movie was a true depiction of deceit and betrayal. The suspense was built well up till the end when the cat was let out of the bag. The movie is an action-comedy film with a little bit of romance at the end which is based on a historical event that happened in 30 BC. A moral lesson I learned from the movie is to never trust anyone, no matter the emotional bond you both have. Always be watchful and all that glitters is not gold.
Watching these four fantastic movies was amazing and thrilling for me. I wouldn't think twice about re-watching all of them once again.
