¡Saludos, habitantes de Hive y amantes del cine!
Hoy les hablaré acerca de una película que, aunque gira en torno a una mujer y sus conflictos, temores y batallas personales, no quisiera que esta obra fuese calificada como “película feminista” porque también hay muchos hombres de todas las edades que pasan por este tipo de situaciones y que les cuesta abrir la boca y decir lo que de verdad quieren hacer.
De cualquier modo, ustedes dirán la última palabra. Espero les agrade mi reseña.
Hi, Hive inhabitants and movie lovers!
Today I´ve brought you a movie that even when it is about a woman and her fears, troubles and personal battles, I wouldn´t like this film to be mislabeled as “feminist” because there are men of every age who are going through this kind of situations and it´s hard for them to speak up and do what they really want to do.
In any case, you´ll have the last word. I hope you like my review.
Dirigida por Mark Turtletaub y estrenada en 2017, Puzzle es la historia de Agnes Oros, una ama de casa de ascendencia húngara que tiene una vida monótona con su marido e hijos y vive principal y únicamente para servirles y estar ahí para ellos cada vez que la necesiten.
Su vida cambia cuando su tía Emily le regala un rompecabezas por su cumpleaños. Por curiosidad, Agnes se pone a armarlo entre un quehacer y otro y descubre que le gusta mucho ese tipo de actividad.
Directed by Mark Turtletaub and released in 2017, Puzzle is the story of Agnes Oros, a housewife descendent of Hungarian inmigrants that has a monotonous life with her husband and sons and she lives only and mainly to serve them and be there for them every time they need it.
Her life changes when her aunt Emily gives her a puzzle for her birthday. Being curious, Agnes begins to make it in the time between one work and the other and she discovers she enjoys this activity,
Al principio, como solo tiene el rompecabezas que le regaló su tía, Agnes lo arma y lo desarma una y otra vez hasta que siente deseos de comprar otro. Llama a su tía para que le diga en qué lugar lo adquirió. Cuando copia la dirección de la tienda, Agnes entiende que debe hacerse un espacio para sí misma si quiere desarrollar aún más la afición por este juego.
At first, because she only has the puzzle her aunt gave to ther, Agnes makes it and gets it undone over and over again until she feels she need to buy another. She calls her aunt to tell her where she bought it. When she writes down the address of the shop, Agnes realizes that she needs a room for herself if she wants to develop the obsession for this game.
En la tienda consigue el número de Robert, un hombre de mediana edad que también ama los rompecabezas y hacen equipo para competir en el concurso nacional de armado de rompecabezas.
Como necesita tiempo para practicar antes del día fijado y no quiere que su esposo le dé una respuesta negativa a su petición, Agnes se ve en la necesidad de mentirle a su familia, no solo una sino varias veces. En el proceso, ella descubre cosas de sí misma que no sabía que podía hacer o que se atrevería a hacer alguna vez.
Once she is in the shop, she gets two more puzzles and also gets the number of Robert, a middle aged man who loves puzzles too and the two of them make a team for the national jigsaw puzzle contest.
Because she needs time to practice before the day of the contest and doesn´t want her husband to give her a negative response for the request for time to be out of the house with Robert, Agnes starts to lie to her family not just one but as many times as she needs. In this process, she finds out things about herself that she didn´t know she could do.

Ya para el final de la historia, tenemos a una mujer completamente diferente a la del principio, que se atreve a decir que no si no quiere y que no necesita que la estén protegiendo todo el tiempo y que, de paso, nos deja con un final abierto que podría ser calificado de satisfactorio.
At the end of the story we got a completely different woman from the individual we met at the beginning, a woman who dares to say no if she doesn´t want to and doesn´t need to be under somebody´s protection all the time and also this story has an open ending that might be labeled as satisfactory.
