The story begins when a man, played by Matthew McConaughey, shows up at the FBI offices and reveals to an investigator that he knows the identity of the killer nicknamed ‘Frailty’, a psychopath who has dismembered several bodies over the years.

At first, the inspector is sceptical and reticent, but as the stranger tells his story, he begins to question whether he is really telling the truth about this ruthless criminal.

The film is structured through flashbacks, weaving a meticulous narrative reminiscent of the acclaimed ‘Usual Suspects’, despite the unexpected twists and turns which, while surprising, are logical.

Bill Paxton, known for his participation in numerous films and for the character of the Hulk, makes his directorial debut in this thriller that incorporates supernatural elements.

The plot revolves around a psychopath who drags his family, including his two young children, into a spiral of madness and death due to a divine mandate.

Visions commanding him to eliminate demons in human form are challenged by the eldest son, who struggles to understand the intricate and often incomprehensible ways of the Lord, triggering devastating consequences.

The script is brilliant and avoids indulging in gruesomeness, as this is not a gore film, nor does it seek easy gore. It offers multiple readings: Is blind faith a form of madness or the path to a saving truth?

Is God an implacable judge of those who stray from the right path, or is it our own demons that lead us into the abyss? In addition, the film features ‘fantastic’ twists and turns that enrich the narrative.

The filmmaking is careful and precise, supported by exceptional cinematography that creates an unsettling atmosphere, along with dynamic editing. The performances are outstanding, especially those of the two children, played by Matt O'Leary and Jeremy Sumpter.

As a whole, ‘Frailty’ offers us 100 uninterrupted minutes of suspense and constantly increasing tension, making it a highly enjoyable experience, recommendable and worthy of vindication.
