Hello, my dear film-loving friends, today I want to share with you the review of a beautiful French film that I saw some time ago for the first time, but that I recently saw again and I loved it, it is "Azur and Asmar", a beautiful fairy tale with very valuable meanings that are worth highlighting.
Hola, mis queridos amigos amantes del cine, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la review de una preciosa película francesa que vi hace algún tiempo por primera vez, pero que recientemente volví a ver y me encantó, se trata de Azur y Asmar, un cuento de hadas precioso con significados muy valiosos que valen la pena destacar.
Overview/Resumen
Azur, a blond, blue-eyed boy, is the son of a rich and arrogant man who left him the first years of his life in the care of a wet nanny who came from the land of the Moors (that was the way European Christians called Muslims of African descent in the Middle Ages) this woman also had a son, Asmar, and both boys grew up as brothers raised by the same woman, listening to songs and stories from her land, but the one the boys liked most was the one about the Dijinns Fairy. As true brothers do, Azur and Asmar fought over everything but they really loved each other very much, however, on one occasion Azur's father decided to send him away to study in another city, and to top it all off he threw the nanny and Asmar out of the house. Years later both "brothers" meet again on the journey to find The Fairy of the Diginns, but along the way, while overcoming difficulties, they both learn valuable lessons.
Azur, un niño rubio de ojos azueles, es hijo de un hombre rico y arrogante que lo dejó los primeros años de su vida al cuidado de una nodriza que venía de la tierra de los moros (esa era la forma en que los cristianos europeos llamaban a los musulmanes de ascendencia africana en la edad media) esta mujer también tenía un hijo, Asmar, y ambos niños crecieron como hermanos criados por la misma mujer, escuchando canciones e historias de su tierra, pero la que más le gustaba a los niños era la del Hada de los Dijinns. Tal y como hacen los verdaderos hermanos, Azur y Asmar se peleaban por todo pero de verdad se querían mucho, sin embargo, en una ocasión el padre de Azur decidió enviarlo lejos a estudiar en otra ciudad, y para colmó echó de la casa a la nodriza y a Asmar. Años después ambos "hermanos" vuelven a encontrarse en la travesía para encontrar El Hada de los Diginns, pero en el camino, mientras superan dificultades, ambos aprenderán valiosas lecciones.

My Opinion/Mi Opinión
One of the things we find in this story is that everywhere there is discrimination, no matter where you are, there will always be people who are prejudiced against a different ethnicity or way of thinking, for example when the nanny and Asmar were in the land of his master (Azur's father), he discriminated against them and did not like their beliefs, but when Azur travelled to the land of the nanny, he discovered that he was discriminated against because of his blue eyes (people said that blue eyes were bad luck) and this forced him to travel with his eyes closed, although on his way he found someone who could guide him, and this brings me to another important aspect that we can find in the film.
Una de las cosas que encontramos en esta historia es que en todos lados hay discriminación, sin importar el lugar en el que te encuentres, siempre habrá personas que tengan prejuicios contra una etnia o forma de pensar diferente, por ejemplo cuando la nodriza y Asmar estaban en la tierra de su amo (el padre de Azur), él los discriminaba y no le gustaba sus creencias, pero cuando Azur viajó a la tierra de la nodriza, descubrió que allí era él el discriminado a causa de sus ojos azules (la gente decía que los ojos azules llevaban mala suerte) esto lo obligó a viajar con los ojos cerrados, aunque en su camino encontró a alguien que pudo guiarlo, y esto me lleva a otro aspecto importante que podemos encontrar en el film.
It is about Crapoux, a man who knows the language of Azur and offers to guide him through the city in exchange for him carrying him on his shoulders, however we realise that Crapoux is a hypocrite because, although he lives in that country as a beggar pretending to be underprivileged, he does not stop criticising their music, customs and whatever, to make matters worse he also has blue eyes and decided to cover them with huge glasses because of the prejudices of the people.
Se trata de Crapoux, un hombre que conoce la lengua de Azur y se ofrece a guiarlo por la ciudad a cambio de que él lo lleve sobre sus hombros, sin embargo nos damos cuenta de que Crapoux es un hipócrita pues, a pesar de que vive en ese país como mendigo haciéndose pasar por desvalido, no deja de criticar su música, sus costumbres y lo que sea, para colmo él también tiene los ojos azules y decidió cubrirlos con unos enormes anteojos por causa de los prejuicios de la gente.
But one of the things I liked most about this film is that during his journey, Azur only found part of the keys he needed precisely when he was travelling with his eyes closed, as this allowed him to awaken his other senses and above all his intuition, which made him discover that he had a great power within him, moreover, while Crapoux, highly greedy, tried to convince him to sell the keys, Azur always had the strong conviction to use them as he should, to open the doors that would lead him to the Fairy of the Dijinns, he never let himself be carried away by ambition, even though he was a beggar at the time.
Pero una de las cosas que más me gustó de esta película es que durante su travesía, Azur solo encontró parte de las llaves que necesitaba precisamente cuando viajaba con los ojos cerrados, pues esto le permitía despertar sus otros sentidos y sobre todo la intuición, lo hizo descubrir que tenía un gran poder dentro de si, además, mientras Crapoux, altamente codicioso, intentaba convencerlo de vender las llaves, Azur siempre tuvo la fuerte convicción de usarlas como debía hacerlo, para abrir las puertas que lo conducirían al Hada de los Dijinns, nunca se dejó llevar por la ambición, a pesar de que en ese momento era un mendigo.
Azur and Asmar always stood up for each other during their journey, even though Asmar had a grudge against his brother for walking away from him, he always showed that he really loved him and was willing to sacrifice himself for him, because even though they were different, they had the same goal, to free the fairy. Best of all, when we think they would fight again for the fairy's love once she is freed, we get a pleasant surprise, because she has a cousin, and each of the beautiful fairies makes a beautiful ethnic contrast with the prince she likes, so Asmar (the brown boy) gets the blonde fairy, and Azur (the blonde boy) gets the fairy of the Dijinns, a beautiful woman with a dark skin.
Azur y Asmar siempre se defendieron el uno al otro durante su travesía, a pesar de que Asmar tenía rencor hacia su hermano por haberse alejado de él, siempre demostró que realmente lo amaba y estuvo dispuesto a sacrificarse por él, porque a pesar de que eran diferentes, tenían el mismo objetivo, liberar al hada. Lo mejor de todo es que cuando creemos que volverían a pelearse por el amor del hada una vez que ella queda liberada, nos llevamos una agradable sorpresa, pues ella tiene una prima, y cada una de las hermosas hadas hace un hermoso contraste étnico con el príncipe que le gusta, de esta manera Asmar (el chico moro) se queda con el hada rubia, y Azur (el chico rubio) se queda con El hada de los Dijinns, una preciosa mujer de tez morena.
This film talks about the love that should exist in the human being above ethnic differences, skin colours, languages or religions, we are all different but equally important in this world, it also talks about the importance of fighting to achieve the goals we want, without stopping or letting ourselves be defeated by the prejudices that people may have against us, it is a beautiful work of the seventh animated art that should be known by more people.
Esta película nos habla del amor que debe existir en el ser humano por encima de las diferencias étnicas, colores de piel, idiomas o religiones, todos somos diferentes pero igualmente importantes en este mundo, también nos habla de la importancia de luchar por alcanzar las metas que queremos, sin detenernos o dejarnos vencer por los prejuicios que pueda tener la gente contra nosotros, es una bella obra del séptimo arte animado que debería ser conocida por más personas.
