"Minari" is a good, life-like film // "Мінарі" - добрий, життєвий фільм (EN/UA)

Recently, I watched a wonderful, kind, life-like film, which I want to tell you about.

"Minari" (Cor. 미나리) is an American drama by South Korean director Lee Isaac Chang, which was released in 2020. It is interesting that the director depicted the story of his own childhood.

A family of emigrants from Korea is trying to arrange their life in the American "backwoods". The man bought a "home on wheels" and wants to grow a vegetable garden here. The wife is not happy with the place, nor with the new house, nor with her husband's plans. She wants to live in the city, especially since their son has health problems, and it is very far to get to the doctors. But the couple starts working at a poultry factory and settles in a new house, and they call their grandmother to help. It was she who decided to plant minari nearby - greens that are grown in Korea and Japan and are considered very useful. The family is experiencing difficulties, in particular, the relationship between the spouses is strained, they constantly quarrel. But will they be able to "stand on their feet" and accomplish everything planned?

This tape is about the way. The path not only to a dream, but also to life. Everyday obstacles can break a person, or they can make him stronger. But it won't be easy. The film is both simple and complex at the same time, worth watching.

Нещодавно я переглянула чудовий, добрий, життєвий фільм, про який хочу розповісти і вам.

"Мінарі" (кор. 미나리; англ. Minari) - американська драма південнокорейського режисера Лі Айзек Чанга, що вийшла на екрани 2020-го року. Цікаво те, що режисер зобразив історію власного дитинства.

Сім'я емігрантів з Кореї намагаються влаштувати своє життя в американській "глушині". Чоловік придбав "будинок на колесах", і хоче вирощувати тут городину та сад. Дружина не в захваті ні від місця, ні від нового дому, ні від планів чоловіка. Вона хоче жити в місті, тим паче у їх сина проблеми зі здоров'ям, а добиратися до лікарів дуже далеко. Та подружжя починає працювати на птахофабриці й облаштовуватись в новому домі, а на допомогу покликали бабусю. Саме вона вирішила посадити неподалік мінарі - зелень, яку вирощують в Кореї та Японії і вважають дуже корисною. Сім'я переживає труднощі, зокрема, стосунки подружжя напружені, вони постійно сваряться. Та чи вдасться їм "стати на ноги" та здійснити все задумане?

Ця стрічка про шлях. Шлях не лише до мрії, а й по життю. Щоденні перешкоди можуть зламати людину, а можуть зробити сильнішою. Але легко не буде. Фільм і простий, і складний водночас, вартий перегляду.
