Or stalling, as per the instruction from the guy who is paying
You kow, I have never found out how common this is but early rumours back when I was in my 20s and thinking about getting into that industry about the time when that industry started being hyperfocused on making massive profits at any and all cost rather than interesting storytelling and trying new things, but just hearing the idea of it made me about face in a hurry and with how a lot of movies and series are going now (don't get me wrong it sounds like there are a lot of good ones hat have appeared but also sounds like there is so much more chaff and I don't have time for that even when studying) I'm glad I just decided to fail on my own.
I'm just imagining "the guy who is paying" suddenly getting all these "brilliant" ideas and insisting that they have to be put in and everyone else going "...".

Haha! Exactly, sometimes the "guy who is paying" just needs to pay and shut up.
I am afraid that the series is already 'LOST' to me.🤣
As far as I can tell from rumour and hearsay it seems that some of the guys who are paying seem to think that because they are paying they are fully entitled to have their "brilliant" ideas in there and can't get it through their thick skulls that money != good story ideas/plot points.
I don't know how widespread or even true that is though.
This is 100% true.
Things are horrible in Indian cinema. The pressure from the guys who are paying is so much so that they hijack roles and demand that it be played by someone of their interest. And you can spot them in the movie because they are the only people sticking out like a sore thumb.
One such guy is DilRaju from the Telugu film Industry. He interferes with the story, directions and whatnot. Most of his recent ventures feel like a cash grab. People started rejecting his offers, citing creative differences 🤣
"Creative differences" would definitely be accurate ^_^; and more of that kind of stuff needs to happen I guess.
