If you have heard of Kerala, you must have heard of the wonderful movie industry as well with great actors both male and female. Even though the pandemic had us all behind locked doors, the movies are now opened and people are starting to visit movie theaters rather than just watching a movie on an OTT platform.
Today, I am going to write about a Malayalam movie - Bro Daddy which stars the versatile Mohanlal, Prithviraj who also directed it, and Lalu Alex who has given a good performance. It was released on Disney Hotstar.
The story revolves around two families and their friendship. John, his wife Anna, and their son Esho are family friends of Kurien, his wife Elsy, and daughter Anna.

John and Kurien and their families meet during a wedding reception of a daughter of a common friend. Anna, Esho's mother talks about proposing to Anna for marriage. Anna is the daughter of Kurien who named her so after he was infatuated with her years back but her dad had rejected his proposal because he did not have a good family history.
The children Esho and Anna reject the proposal saying that they do not match and leave for Bangaluru for their jobs. Meanwhile, it is shown that unknown to their parents and families, the two have been living together for four years.
Esho is called back by his dad all of a sudden. Meanwhile, he learns that his partner Anna is pregnant. They panic and Esho returns to his house without making any decision where he learns that his mother Anna is also pregnant and in the confusion he somehow tells his dad that he and Anna live together and they are also going to be parents.
The movie is directed superbly by Prithviraj and we get to see the following events as they unfold. Esho and his parents visit Kurien and his wife and request the hand of Anna, his daughter in marriage. He does not agree at first but loses his voice when his old crush calls him.
In the meantime, an old family friend of Kurien informs him that Esho has an affair with a girl, and Kurien is infuriated but his daughter tells him that she is the very same girl. He is devastated that she is pregnant but later on Esho wins him over by doing an ad for his agency which lands him a deal with a huge maternity hospital group.
Things end on a happy note with the marriage of Esho and Anna. The last scene shows both John and Esho waiting for the babies to be born and Esho becomes both Bro and Daddy.
Bro Daddy is a feel-good movie that has lots of situational comedy that is brilliantly executed. Prithviraj's mother who is also a veteran actor - Mallika shows why she is the best with her facial expressions. She plays the role of John's mother in the movie. Kurien is played by Lalu Alex who used to play the second fiddle but he has overshadowed the others quite a bit.
